Job Description

Millions of people in the UK lose their sight every year, but through pioneering research and innovations this can be halted and prevented. Fight for Sight is doing just that. As the UK’s leading eye research charity we currently have £8m committed to eye research in 49 UK universities and hospitals.

With significant developments in the pipeline in the areas of gene-therapy, stem cells, drug therapies, the use of artificial intelligence and other technologies, the pace of change has never been so rapid. We are on the cusp of clinical breakthroughs which will make a difference to millions of people. Fight for Sight is ambitious and wants to capitalise on this progress by significantly raising our profile and income to ensure that we can stop sight loss sooner.

We are a small team who command huge respect in our sector because we are experts who think creatively and make a big impact. This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious change programme to grow our profile and provide hope and tangible results for people with sight loss. We are looking for a self-starter and a team player who enjoys working at pace, working collaboratively across the organisation to help us grow our business, and who can take the lead in redesigning our systems and processes to achieve our mission.

This is a diverse finance role with a real opportunity to get close to the business and provide a financial lead to a growing organisation. You will manage the finance function, lead financial reporting, support budget holders, and build systems and processes for growth. It offers broad exposure to a range of technical areas, and to work across the whole organisation. You would be joining a flexible and supportive team, and an organisation which offers excellent benefits and with a progressive training and development culture.

Closing date: 9am on Monday 3rd June 2019.
