Impetus-PEF partners with the most promising charities and social enterprises that work with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

We support our charity partners to develop high-impact services that produce clear and measurable life-changing outcomes for the young people they serve. We make this happen through a unique combination of hands-on management support, world class pro bono expertise and strategic long-term funding.

Impetus-PEF is interested in further developing the social investment landscape having experienced early success with a number of social impact bonds it has been involved in. We are also committed to Driving Impact and are working with charities to help them focus on the most important outcomes for their programme participants and how best to measure success.

We are looking for a highly motivated and forward-thinking finance professional with robust technical skills to provide high quality support to the organisation  to ensure future growth, stability and success.  This is a high profile role which will work closely with the CFO to ensure the effective financial planning, control and management within the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Being responsible for the coverage of full Finance function; ensuring financial controls are maintained; preparation of month end management accounts, Finance & Audit Committee packs and documents for Board meetings;
  • Assisting in the development of strategy, business planning and strategic projects; developing projections and business models; budget setting and forecasting
  • Supporting the philanthropy and investment teams with ad hoc analysis and reporting; reporting KPIs to management and trustees;
  • Leading the relationship with auditors; preparation of statutory accounts; completion of VAT and Gift Aid returns; supporting the treasury and payroll management.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) from an Audit background, Charity, Commercial or wider Public Sector. You will be analytically-minded with excellent organisational and project management skills. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, flexible in approach but firm when necessary, who can work on their own initiative and thrives when thinking and acting proactively. You be able to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders (including senior professionals from Private Equity and associated industries) and possess the ability to influence and build rapport with a range of finance and non-finance persons across the organisation. Enthusiasm for the sector is a must.
