We're looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Operations Lead who will ensure the smooth running of CCX day-to-day operations. As lead of the Operations Team, you will oversee the finance, HR, coordination of data, IT applications and integration, and corporate governance functions.

The Gregory Centre for Church Multiplication (CCX) helps the Church make disciples in new and renewed ways. We work with willing partners across the Church to catalyse multiplication, equipping leaders through adaptive learning pathways.

CCX’s organisational structure is a hybrid management model, blending elements of both functional and project-based structures. Project teams are formed to address specific initiatives, tasks, or delivery projects. These teams are cross-functional, comprising individuals from different specialties, typically with a project manager working under the direction of a CCX lead. The two core teams of Operations and Media operate as shared services across the organisation.

Under the direction of the Bishop of Islington, a suffragan bishop of the London Diocese, CCX supports church planting and church growth work in London, nationally and beyond.

Collaboration and partnership will be key features of this role, working closely with the Bishop, Chief of Staff, and Team Leads. This role has a strong focus on agile and efficient systems development and improvement, resource optimisation and stakeholder engagement.

They are expected to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative, and judgement, including knowing when to resolve issues and challenges directly and when to escalate.

Key Duties and Accountabilities include:

● Ensure the deliverables of the CCX Operations Team are met in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.

● Establish and maintain agile operational structures and systems necessary for CCX's missions, including but not limited to finance, people management, procurement, IT and data management, business applications, corporate governance, and facilities management.

● Manage and supervise staff or contractors within the operations team to ensure effective performance, including roles such as Business Applications Manager, Finance and Office Manager, Data and HR Coordinator.

● Develop, implement, and maintain corporate policies, strategies, and procedures pertaining to finance, human resources, IT, data management, safeguarding, and governance.

● Ensure the capacity and capability to provide support services to CCX team and stakeholders, such as dioceses, church leaders, church planters, TEIs, and Together partners, by recruiting and retaining skilled personnel and providing necessary resources.

This is a full-time role (1 FTE)

We are looking for a Finance Officer at Cruse Bereavement Support. A leading literacy charity is looking for a Finance Assistant to join its small, closeknit team. The charity empowers children, young people and adults from disadvantaged communities with the literacy skills they need to succeed. You will need to work from the office in Vauxhall at least one day per week, but can work from home the remainder of the week. Salary £25,000 - £28,000 per annum.

This is a permanent, full time role (35 hours per week). You will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with the other members in the Finance Team.

The post holder's main duties and responsibilities are:

• Undertake month-end bank reconciliations, monitor balances and make transfers when required
• Process bank transactions including depositing cheques
• Check bank receipts daily, matching to income expected and liaising with other departments as necessary to ensure they're coded correctly
• Take card payments over the phone, and work with the other finance team members to process cheques and cash
• Import sales invoices from our CRM system (Salesforce) into accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), and carry out reconciliations of income
• Chase outstanding debts and manage aged debtors, including working with the Head of Finance and department leads as necessary
• Process and input staff expenses
• Process and input purchase invoices, ensuring they're authorised and coded correctly
• Liaise with suppliers and be first point of contact for accounts payable queries
• Check and reconcile bank payments daily and liaise with other team members and other departments on managing payments
• Process payments to HMRC, and other ad hoc payments as required
• Prepare Gift Aid claims and submit to HMRC
• Support the audit process as required

The Finance Systems Analyst is a newly created role which will have responsibility for the efficient running and maintenance of ClientEarth’s finance systems, including Access Focal Point- which has been in use for over five years and Workday Adaptive Planning, a new system for the organisation. This role is required due to the rapid growth of ClientEarth and investment in new systems. You will provide essential support for current finance processes, suggest improvements to those processes to maximise their value and provide input into systems strategy for the finance department into the future.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Catherine Adams. A finance professional for thirty four years, Catherine has had a career of two halves, first in the corporate sector working for BDO Binder Hamlyn,  Boots UK, Waterstones and Tesco and then in the Charity sector, gaining an MSC in Charity finance from Bayes Business school, working for MSI Reproductive Choices and joining ClientEarth in 2021. As Head of Finance, Planning and Analysis, Catherine manages a team of ten business partners supporting the programme and core staff in their vital mission to use the power of the Law to bring about systematic change to protect the earth. 

Main Duties 

Systems improvement and efficency

• • Supporting the Head of FP&A with the Workday Adaptive modelling and build to enable value added performance review and reporting in line with organisational strategy.

Systems Administration

• • Administrator for Workday Adaptive and Focal Point to include maintenance and regular review of users, user profiles, password management.

Role requirements

• An accounting qualification – part or full or qualified by experience
• Previous experience working in a finance team, able to demonstrate an understanding of financial processes (essential)
• Experience with Access Focal Point and Workday Adaptive or similar finance systems (essential)
• Experience working with and reporting from large databases and an understanding of data structures (essential)

As part of the organisation’s ongoing growth plans, they are currently in the process of improving the commercial arm of their business and explore new avenues for revenue. This has led to a need to recruit a senior finance business partner in support of this ambitious plan. As the senior finance business partner you will work closely with the wider team as well as moulding the department and building relationships with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and work in partnership with other teams providing data and analysis relevant to the business strategy.
• Use data from various data sources to understand historic trends and use this information to create financial models and presentations to inform budget decisions.
• Create income and cost Key Performance Indicators and research other organisations to measure performance.
• Provide timely and accurate monthly management accounts including income and expenditure, balance sheet reconciliations and Key Performance Indicators.
• Prepare budgets according to timelines in discussion with the team and Chief Financial Officer.
• Prepare monthly rolling forecasts of income and expenditure, working closely with other members of the Team,
• Undertake monthly reviews with budget holders to review income and direct costs  and feedback to key stakeholders where necessary.
• Take an active role in aiding senior managers and team members understanding of their financial responsibilities.
• Working with the Financial Accounts Team, ensure complete and accurate transaction processing.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a desire to drive change in an organisation, influencing senior stakeholders at multiple levels. Additional skills include highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise and work across different teams.
