Our Team Members are involved in every aspect of life on the farm and the farm is firmly embedded in the local community with Team Members providing gardening services to local people as well as volunteering on the Sandon Estate

 We are looking for a Chief Officer who will be responsible for the day to day running of the farm as well as working with the Trustees to take the charity forwards.  The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, will have skills in finance, management and IT, and will enjoy working in a busy environment where there are changing demands and priorities throughout the day.

We are seeking a Finance Officer with a keen eye for detail, and an aptitude for learning new skills, to take on purchase ledger and payroll administration duties in our Finance Department.   You will have either begun on the path of attaining a financial qualification or had some experience in a similar role.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all purchases, payments and returns, including supplier invoices, staff payments (salaries, expenses and advances), project and contractor payments and credit card transactions.  Responsible for project reporting against budget.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• Ownership of the purchase ledger system, administering the entire process of invoice receiving, checking, coding, distributing for approval, posting to the accounts software (currently Sage), setting up domestic and international payments for authorisation, and electronic filing of documents.
• Administering all credit card returns including distribution of statements to colleagues, checking and coding returns, collating documents, submitting for line-manager approval, posting to Sage and following up on outstanding items.
• Administering staff and contractors expense claims, advances, returns and funds transfer requests, including checking and coding, submitting for budget-holder approval, arranging payment both domestic and international, and electronic filing of documents.
• Recording project expenditure against budget and drafting project financial returns to meet funder deadlines.

Essential criteria (full criteria listed in the application pack):

• Either started on a financial qualification or have had experience in a similar role
• Exposure to SAGE Line50 or other accounting package.
• Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. It is specifically expected that the role will allow for flexible scheduling to accommodate other responsibilities, including caring.

The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups. Role Context

ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable.  We need someone reliable who enjoys and has a proven track record of leading and delivering on operational projects for a business or charity while working with senior stakeholders. They should be a highly organised self-starter who is able to work autonomously and lead on projects as well as a great team player.

The role is varied and has a significant financial element, so strong numerical skills and good written communication skills are both important as well as a flexible, responsible approach. Ideally they will also have experience of, and good knowledge of, the charity sector in the UK.

This role is posted as a one year contract as the needs of the business are changing as the organisation develops. At the end of the year the needs of ALIMA will be reviewed and there may be scope to further shape the role, depending on the needs of the business and funding available at the time.

Chief Executive Officer, Remote, 35 hrs Salary £90,097

Finance Officer

This is a full time role - Hybrid working with an expectation of weekly attendance to Head Office at Baynards Green, Nr. Bicester Oxfordshire.

Job Purpose:-

We are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Finance this new role will ensure that appropriate financial processes and systems are followed and developed to support our charity’s sustainable growth and safeguard our financial health.

The Finance Officer will ensure that financial tasks and transactions are undertaken in an efficient, effective and timely manner and, importantly, that relevant financial information is provided to keep the Head of Finance updated and informed, supporting the Leadership Team to make the best decisions for the charity.

We are looking for a confident and experienced individual to join our supportive team. Previous charity finance knowledge is helpful but not essential, above all we want an individual to be tenacious, curious, diligent and show strong initiative.

Who are you?

You should be accomplished in Sage 50 Accounts and have considerable experience working in a finance function and in financial administration.

Some experience of working with Salesforce or an equivalent CRM database and an accountancy qualification or studying towards a professional qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) or AAT qualified. Experience of working in the Voluntary Sector, paid or unpaid would be great.

You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills (a natural ability to clearly communicate financial information to those with a non-finance background). You need to have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and experience in database and payroll systems.

It would be amazing for you to have high level of attention to detail and methodical working, be a self-starter and be able to use initiative.

Join us as our Director of Finance and IT at War Child UK, a pivotal role within our Leadership Group reporting directly to Helen Pattinson, CEO. As Finance and IT Director, you'll lead the optimisation of our finance and IT systems to streamline recording and reporting of financial transactions. Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll play a strategic role in long-term financial planning, fostering collaboration across the War Child Alliance. Success in this role also entails ensuring our IT systems maintain the highest standards of excellence, delivering accurate and timely financial performance insights. You will be a qualified accountant with exceptional strategic and operational experience. You do not necessarily need to have prior international development experience, although you will need to demonstrate that you can build effective working relationships with overseas counterparts. Experience of working within a complex fundraising environment would be highly advantageous though.  For this role, we are also as keen to hear from experienced directors who are excited by what we do as we are from those for whom this would be their first senior leadership role.

In this role you will lead and empower the Executive Team and organisation to deliver high quality services to ensure that patient voices are heard. The role

As our Finance & Operations Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our charity. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive,  you'll be part of a small but impactful team, dedicated to improving awareness, knowledge, policy, and research related to GBS infection prevention and treatment.

Key responsibilities:

Financial and accounting (70%)

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial accounting procedures and records for the charity
• Handle data entry for financial transactions with precision.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, including monthly management accounts.
• Assist with payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payments
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Implement effective internal financial controls.
• Provide training and support to team members on financial procedures.
• Document clear and up-to-date procedure notes for all areas of responsibility

Human resources support (15%)

• Assist with HR administration tasks, including employee records and contracts 
• Coordinate recruitment processes to attract top talent
• Lead new employee onboarding, including training on core systems and processes
• Support staff development and training initiatives

Office management (15%)

• Maintain office supplies and equipment efficiently
• Organise office space and facilities for optimal productivity
• Manage external contracts, review service performance levels and oversee renewals 
• Promote equality, health, and safety within the company, monitoring and proposing improvements to company policies.
• Develop and promote communication and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, Beacon and Monday[dot]com) effectively
• Lead office technology management

Terms and Conditions

• Location: This role is hybrid role at GBSS's offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex and working from home. This is a UK based role. 
• Working Hours: 14 hours per week, with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid (40% FTE)
• Annual Leave: Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year and 8 paid public holidays per year, plus 3 days at Christmas.
• Pension Scheme: Contributory (4% of salary).

• Probation: 3 months
• Notice Period: One month each
