About the Role:
- To ensure the smooth running of office administration, financial recording, marketing, and accommodation, seminar, event and tour bookings.
- To ensure the Our Chalet reception office and shop operates in line with good practice.
- To establish and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and visitors.
- To support the WAGGGS Mission and Goals and strategic priorities.

The Role
JLGB are recruiting a Finance & Fundraising Coordinator who will play a vital role in helping the charity achieve its financial, fundraising and organisational objectives. Supporting the Director of Operations & Finance, the role is essential for the smooth running of the charity’s finances, collaborating with teams across JLGB, as well as volunteers and external suppliers. With some support from JLGB’s administration team, you will be undertaking all financial transactions including payment runs, bank and income reconciliations. Managing our donor database, ensuring that Gift Aid is collected regularly. The position will be suitable for someone who has experience in these areas and is flexible, reliable, highly numerate and interested in working to support young people to reach their potential.
Responsibilities will include:

Processing and reconciling various financial administrative tasks, including petty cash and incoming card payments (via stripe and other card processors)

Providing effective financial administrative support to all JLGB programmes and functions

Providing support to the Finance Director and assisting with management accounts

Preparing expenditure reports for the senior leadership team, finance sub-committee, Trustee Board, funders and stakeholders

Validating and processing weekly expenses

Ensuring that Gift Aid is collected on a regular basis

Managing our Donor Database
-
Supporting with Income generation and fundraising events.

Supporting the delivery of the year-end financial reporting

Ensuring that financial documents are filed

Supporting audit processes to demonstrate compliance

Maintaining accounts and generating invoices on QuickBooks computer software

Overseeing debtor analysis and recovery

Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes

Managing external suppliers, supplier accounts and purchases
-
Supporting other members of the administration team whenever necessary

Person specification
We are looking for some of the following attributes in the successful applicant, you may be more experienced in some areas than others. We are interested in experience that’s both job-related or gained through other areas of your life. Training and support will be given in any areas required.

A relevant finance qualification eg AAT, ACCA, CIMA or currently working towards one

Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting and reporting systems and advanced excel.

Substantial experience of bookkeeping and processing payments

Understanding of Accounting Principles

The ability to initiate and maintain systems

Confident and polite telephone manner for debt recovery and supplier procurement

Ability to pro-actively engage with internal and external stakeholders up to Senior Management level

Ability to present financial information and make it understandable to non-finance stakeholders

Please note this role may also require evening and Sunday work, in order to see delivery and meet/consult with volunteers

About the role
As a part of our Finance team, you will provide support for all aspects of our financial processes. We are looking for someone who has excellent organisational and communication skills, with a friendly approach and great attention to detail, together with an interest in what we do. You must be fully conversant with MS Office and previous experience of Sage accounts would be a benefit.

Deptford X is looking to appoint a General Manager to join Deptford X alongside our next Director and work in tandem to lead the organisation into its next phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious festival and programmes
About Deptford X
Deptford X is a visual arts charity based in Deptford, South East London, we foster artistic talent and nurture community within the borough of Lewisham and beyond. We achieve this through a free festival in Deptford, working with hundreds of artists to locate art at the centre of everyday life for all of the area’s communities, and ongoing activity supporting artists and our local communities year-round. Founded in 1998, Deptford X is London’s longest-running visual arts festival.
This is a crucial and exciting time to join Deptford X; in 2023 the organisation turned 25 and also became an Arts Council England NPO. We are exploring moving to a biennial model and creating more space for deeper engagement and networked working. There is scope for the new General Manager to being their own vision and networks to the organisation and to take it into the next quarter century in a way that is sustainable, accessible, diverse and relevant.
Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities
The General Manager is integral to the management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious programmes. The General Manager works closely with the Director and Board of Trustees as part of a small and supportive team to contribute actively and creatively to the development of the organisation, as well as overseeing daily and organisational operations. The General Manager supervises office management, communications, administration, financial management, staffing, programme delivery logistics, reporting and evaluation; and works collaboratively with the Director on strategic and financial development, including embedded environmental sustainability. In addition to the above, the General Manager will lead on developing and dynamically integrating Deptford X's access and care agenda.

Salary: £32 - 35,500 pro rata
Responsible to: Director
Location: We have a hybrid working model outside of festival delivery times. We have an office at Lewisham Arthouse in Deptford/Brockley and also offer the option to work 2 days a week from home.
Hours: 9.30 - 5.30
