Many of our clients have challenges with accessing the support they are entitled to from the welfare system. First Love Foundation recently acquired AQS-accreditation, we are therefore looking to add expertise to our team so that we can best work alongside our clients in their journey to independent living. Welfare Rights Adviser is a newly created job with a new role within the Enabling Lives Team.
Candidates must be motivated to deliver a strongly effective service for people in crisis in keeping with the rapid, holistic, and solution-focused approach that the charity is well known for. Responsible for delivering excellent welfare rights advice to clients within the broader day-to-day operations of the Enabling Lives Programme.
The Adviser will manage a caseload of welfare benefits issues for clients (and their carers), and support them with applications for welfare benefits, mandatory considerations and appeals. The Welfare Rights Advisor will also provide welfare rights advice to Project Workers and volunteers within the team to enable them to progress client cases from initial consultation to completion.
Essential to this role is the use of the Salesforce CRM System to track all client casework, relationships with referral agencies, the monitoring and evaluation of our services and reporting for the trustee board, external partners, and funders of our work.
The ideal candidate is an experienced welfare rights practitioner with a proven track record of achieving meaningful outcomes for clients experiencing challenges in accessing their full benefits entitlements. Tenacious and well organized, you can manage a busy caseload and enjoy facilitating the smooth running of this new service. The ideal candidate will also enjoy being part of our multi-disciplinary team.
This role is suitable for someone with excellent welfare rights knowledge, skills, and experience. The ideal candidate has a heart for social justice, with strong administrative skills and a passion for training staff and volunteers.

- 25 days annual leave excluding Bank/Public Holidays. This is prorated for employees working part-time hours/fixed term contracts.
