As FoodCycle expands from 30 to 50 Projects this year, we’re looking for an individual with great PR and social media experience to help make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past, for every community.
You will need to be comfortable engaging and building relationships with several different audiences such as regional media, volunteers, guests (who may be vulnerable), local charities and community organisations.
This role will be key in educating all of the above on the benefits of Community meals and you’ll need to be confident doing this through different mediums such as writing (press releases, blog posts etc), making phone calls, face to face and contacting people via email and/or social media.
You’ll work closely with the Regional Managers to help recruit new volunteers, usually through local and social media channels and help to increase guest numbers through word-of-mouth marketing and leaflet distribution.
Volunteers are at the heart of FoodCycle and we find that content created by them drives the most engagement on our social channels, plus the media love interviewing them! We’re building our team of Communications Project Leaders and you’ll be responsible for making sure they have the tools and assets they need to manage their own regional social media pages and can support you with media outreach for their local Project.
This is an exciting role where no two days are the same, so the right person will need to be organised, have a creative approach to problem solving and enjoy working with multiple teams and juggling multiple projects.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
