A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a leader capable of supporting and developing our passionate and talented Programmes Team who deliver our long term, intensive wrap-around intervention. The FBB model puts young people’s passions and strengths at the heart of their development to help them thrive in secondary school. We need someone who’s bursting with ideas on how to ensure our Programmes Team have the skills and support required to deliver our life-changing intervention. This role will be key to us achieving our vision of making FBB the best place to work with young people in the UK.

Established in 2014, we have undergone impressive growth in the past couple of years and are now at an exciting stage of our journey. We currently work with 1,400 students across 92 Secondary School programmes in Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire, Yorkshire, London, Kent and Essex. Alongside this, we have built strong partnerships with a host of brands such as Nike. In the next stage of our journey FBB aims to become the leading specialist charity for disengaged young people and the best place to work with young people in the UK.°

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Role Overview

The Learning and Relationships Manager will oversee the development and support for the practitioners within the Programmes Team in London. They will provide direct line management, as well as identifying training needs to ensure high quality of programmes are delivered. They will also play a key role in developing and implementing the FBB staff development strategy.

MAIN DUTIES

DEVELOPMENT OF SENIOR PRACTITIONERS:

Provide weekly line management to senior practitioners across the London Programmes team

Coming up with creative ideas to support our senior practitioners to continue learning and developing in the role

Lead on identifying training needs and supporting with the design and delivery of training for the team to support young people

Identifying external training providers that could support with the development of the team

LEADING A TEAM OF SENIOR PRACTITIONERS:

Embody the relational culture of FBB and come up with innovative ways to disseminate this throughout the team

Model high standards expected of our team while developing the professional standards of the team

Establish ways to ensure that the wellbeing and morale of the team is always prioritised

Along with other senior team members, leading on  team meetings and traininG.

Supporting with the recruitment of future team members and supporting with the development of our interview process to ensure it is robust and inclusive.

BECOME A KEY MEMBER OF THE PROGRAMMES TEAM MANAGEMENT:

Contributing to decisions about the direction of FBB’s model

Supporting Programmes Team management with identifying longer-term training needs.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • You have experience of managing people and supporting their development

  • Have a background in education whether teaching or otherwise

  • Have experience/qualifications in counselling/ therapy°

  • Have a background in providing training/CPD for teams

  • Have experience working within safeguarding

Have experience developing strategy creatively and doing things differently

Have experience designing and/or delivering training sessions
