Salary: £32,000 (inclusive of £3,550 London Weighting allowance) per annum pro rata

11-months fixed term contract

Due to business requirements, the post holder will be required to work from 8.30am Monday to Friday. We are open to considering a 4-day a week contract (Monday to Thursday). The final arrangement of working hours will be agreed with the line manager.

The successful candidate must be available to start by 6 January 2020.

About the role

This is a key supporting role for the organisation ensuring the most effective and productive working environment for all staff and visitors in our UK office. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and hardworking and willing to contribute fully to our busy team. The work will be varied and will include reception and general office duties. 

Reporting to the Global HR Manager, the Office Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day office and reception management of the existing site, logistical delivery of the all staff away days (summer 2020), as well as supporting the Global HR Manager with key administrative (e.g. recruitment) activities, as and when required.

Forum for the Future UK is likely to be moving office prior to the expiry of the existing lease in September 2020. Therefore, the post holder will drive the planning in preparation and delivery of this coordinating the move to new offices.

About you

We are looking for a self-motivated, well organised, adaptable and tenacious individual, who has a demonstrable record of delivering effective office support services and strong project management skills. It is therefore essential that the right candidate possess the skills and attitude to hit the ground running and be able to quickly make the role their own. 

The successful candidate will have plenty of common sense, a true “can do” attitude, particularly where issues in relation to the building are concerned, and be able to take full ownership of varied tasks, projects and the role at hand. They will have an eye for detail, be resourceful and creative problem solver, have excellent communication skills and be exceptionally organised. An excellent knowledge of MS Office and a professional telephone manner are essential.

The ideal person will have previous experience of office/ facilities management (including understanding, if not direct experience, of executing an office move) within a not-for-profit organisation. A personal interest in sustainability issues would be an advantage.
