Opportunity Nottingham is part of the National Fulfilling Lives Programme and is Big Lottery Funded until 2022. In Nottingham City, we deliver our work through a partnership of local agencies, of which Framework is the lead, and we exist to improve the lives of people with multiple and complex needs who may have had poor experiences of engaging with mainstream services. Beneficiaries of Opportunity Nottingham need to be experiencing at least three out of the following four complex needs: homelessness, substance misuse, offending, and mental ill health. We are recruiting for:
Housing First is an approach to housing clients with particular challenging Housing need, seeking to provide good quality permanent housing to those who have been recurrently homeless and have been unsuccessful in supported accommodation. The model is in contrast to the ‘stepped approach’ to the provision of accommodation and grants a permanent tenancy at the outset rather than requiring tenants to succeed in other types of accommodation first. The main purpose of the job will be to coordinate intensive, person centered wrap around support for Opportunity Nottingham beneficiaries in Housing First tenancies. The successful candidate will also work with beneficiaries to create Personal Development Plans and liaise with referring & partner provider agencies. This group of beneficiaries present challenges, therefore the team and its members need to be resilient, creative, flexible, patient, and persistent and, where required, assertive in their approach.
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people, particularly those with multiple needs
- Understanding of partnership working with external agencies
- Understanding of the range of services available to vulnerable people
- Understanding of the issues faced by people who are affected by: homelessness, substance misuse, mental ill health, and offending
- Ability to accurately plan and record work with beneficiaries
- Commitment with tolerance and flexibility.
- Excellent communication, liaison and negotiation skills
