Job description

SUPPORT PLANNER, HOMELESS FAMILIES, NOTTINGHAM, PERMANENT, FRWK06 £19,334 - £21,415, 37 HPW, MONDAY- FRIDAY, ALTERNATE WEEKLY SHIFT PATTERN 8 AM – 4 PM AND 10 AM – 6 PM

The service will work closely with the Local Authority to reduce the use of B&B accommodation for these often vulnerable families.  We are looking for experienced workers who respond well to a fast paced service and like a challenge.

Referrals will come from Nottingham City Council’s Housing Aid service and families will be accommodated for approximately 10 weeks.  Support will focus on addressing immediate and short term support needs and resettlement to more permanent accommodation. Housing management and a focus on move-on will form the majority of the tasks. The safety and wellbeing of families with children is paramount.    There will be a high turnover and the accommodation will need to be made ready in a short time span.

We are looking for reliable, experienced and enthusiastic candidates with an understanding of safeguarding and a desire to work with vulnerable families and children. Experience of working in an accommodation setting or similar environment is not necessary but preferable and we welcome applicants with a background in working with children and/or young people.

 The main functions of this role are;

  1. Positively promote the work of Framework and the new service
  2. Create a support plan with the family members
  3. Provide a housing management function, collect both eligible and ineligible rent, manage occupancy agreements, void and locality management
  4. Ensure that the accommodation provided is both safe and healthy
  5. Develop good professional relationships and networks of support relevant to the client group
  6. Liaise with the local authority about move on options
  7. Review support plans and risk assessments
  8. Understand and act on both child and adult safeguarding issues
