    A Support worker is responsible for providing support to an allocated number of tenants by following an agreed plan completed by a Support planner, Primary Reviews are carried out every six months and interim reviews every 3 months are also carried out in partnership with the Support planner.


    The workload can be up to 40 residents in mixed Tenure and at different addresses at any one time so the ability to prioritise and team work is a must as we are very busy team, a can do attitude and a common sense approach is essential in this role.


    We work from a Team office Base and visit tenants in there flats or shared accommodation where they live, our service is only for Tenants in the Housing units that we deal with and these Tenants have an obligation to engage with us as part of their Tenancy Agreement.


    We provide:

  • Benefits Checks (is a person on the correct benefits)

  • Employment ,training and volunteering advice

  • Tenancy related advice and information

  • Help creating links with other networks

  • Debt Management

  • Move on / Resettlement


Our primary focus is to get tenants into a position where they feel able to move on into general needs accommodation without the need for support, when tenants do this the unit is re-let by the Housing management team and we start support all over again with the new tenant.


We work very closely with the Housing Management team, so an ability to foster good working and positive relationships with another team is very important as is an understanding of their role as well as your own.


Successful applicants will be subject to a 6 month initial induction / probation period in which both formal (classroom training) and on the job training will be provided to ensure you gain all the basic skills you need.
