Job description

We are looking for a Head of Campaign Activism to join our Campaign Activism team on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The main purpose of this role is to provide strategic direction, manage, co-ordinate and facilitate greater levels of engagement across our communities and enable them to realise their power to improve the environment and tackle climate change through fair and justice-based solutions.

The Campaign Activism team works across England, Wales and Northern Ireland supporting teams and communities to connect and deliver change. It’s an exciting time to join the team with over 170 new community groups forming in the last year alone. In the next year we hope the Head of Campaign Activism will help them, along with the 120 existing Friends of the Earth local groups to have more impact than ever before, and to support them to connect with our international network.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in campaigning and activism, managing a team to a high level and a clear track record in developing activism strategies across multiple campaigns and nations.

Closing date:  Thursday 23rd April 2020 (23:59)

We offer a competitive range of benefits, good work/life balance, excellent learning and development opportunities and a vibrant organisational culture.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are especially keen to encourage applications from people currently under-represented in the environment movement.

Friends of the Earth is an international community dedicated to protecting the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it. We lead campaigns, provide resources and information, and drive real solutions to the environmental problems facing us all.
