Fundraising & Marketing Manager

Part-time (28 hours per week) and based at our Kendal Office at Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road.

Starting Salary: £26,306 per annum pro-rata (£32,883 F.T.E.)

Friends of the Lake District is an independent charity and the only membership organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing Cumbria's landscapes. We believe that the Lake District offers some of the most spectacular and precious landscapes in England. We take action to protect and conserve the natural beauty of these landscapes for the benefit of visitors, local communities, wildlife and habitats. 

We’re looking for a Fundraising & Marketing Manager to head up our fundraising team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have a proven track record of creating and implementing fundraising and marketing strategies and will have experience of managing teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to build on our established fundraising strategy and lead the development of a marketing strategy for the organisation that works in harmony with fundraising goals and with the Charity’s aims and activities.

To be considered for this role you should have a proven track record of fundraising management and either an appropriate degree or formal qualification or are qualified by substantive experience.  You should also have experience of creative marketing in the not-for-profit sector and an understanding of the importance of digital marketing, branding and communications.

You will need to demonstrate a passion for the Lake District and Cumbrian Landscapes and an understanding of the work and aims of the Charity in advocating for and protecting these landscapes. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative, have well developed verbal and written communications skills, and be able to persuade and influence others. A willingness and ability to work flexible hours is required, including occasional evenings and weekends.
