Job description

The League of Friends of the Royal United Hospitals (Bath) is an independent charity working in partnership with the Royal United Hospitals in Bath to provide a wide range of volunteering services for the benefit of the hospitals’ patients.

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Friends for a Volunteer Manager to lead our volunteer workforce of more than 300 who provide a wide range of support roles throughout the RUH.  Working closely with the hospital’s Patient Experience Team you will lead and champion high-quality volunteering activity and the creation of new volunteer roles, and roles that are accessible and inclusive. 

Purpose of Job

  • To create an outstanding and rewarding volunteer experience that contributes an obvious value to patients, visitors, and staff of the RUH.
  • To manage all aspects of volunteer recruitment, induction, support, and retention.
  • To ensure effective communication with volunteers, hospital management and staff, and other relevant organisations.
  • To be responsible for Friends of the RUH contribution to the RUH Volunteer Strategy.
