Job description

Director of Membership, Marketing & Communications

London SE1 (hybrid office/homeworking by negotiation)

This is a uniquely broad, exciting and far-reaching opportunity which will draw on all of your passion for communications and engagement, insight and commercialism. If this sounds like the role you’ve been looking for, read on.

Working closely with the newly appointed Chief Executive, the Council and Senior Leadership Team, you will develop and pursue clear, confident and strategic commercial objectives, exciting members, engaging sponsors and adding to the sustainability of the Faculty.

This role is a key part of the FSRH Senior Management Team, and you will join us at an exciting time as we seek opportunities to enhance our membership offering, enable commercial growth, and ultimately deliver our ambitious five-year strategy.

The post holder will work with the SMT to identify how this is best achieved across business areas, which may necessitate future development to portfolios. Ultimately, we are looking for a dynamic, flexible individual who can work collaboratively across the Faculty to best deliver organisational goals and support the needs of our members.

With the support of a small, specialist team you will also grow our membership, oversee our digital transformation to ensure it retains our members’ interests at heart and seek commercial opportunities for our products.

You will have a strong track record in leading and delivering successful membership, marketing or commercial activities; relationship development and influencing stakeholders. You will be able to communicate clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences, including members, potential sponsors, government departments, charities and corporate organisations.

You will have an understanding of the role of professional bodies, ideally within the health and care landscape, and your critical analytical skills and insight will ensure you can quickly grasp new subjects and make sound, commercial decisions and recommendations under pressure.

A highly influential and strategic thinker, your relationship-building and networking capabilities will help you identify new commercial opportunities, marketing or engagement initiatives that support the aims of the FSRH. Your visionary leadership will ensure your team continues to flourish amidst the challenges and opportunities of an ever-changing membership world.

The role requires a high degree of commercialism and emotional intelligence, as well as resilience and flexibility. A commitment to understanding and serving the interests of FSRH members is essential.

The FSRH is the largest UK professional membership organisation working in the field of sexual and reproductive health (SRH). We support healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality healthcare, including access to contraception, by providing our 15,000 healthcare professional members with a range of member benefits. We provide a range of qualifications and training courses, online resources, assessments, e-learning modules and membership examinations, as well as conferences and events.
