About Our Client

The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial management of St George's Weybridge, a £30m business with over 500 staff. The post holder will fulfil a wide range of responsibilities and roles in connection with the financial strategy, accounting and general financial management of the School. The post is the most senior finance professional on the staff and reports directly to the Bursar, who is effectively the CFO/COO. As such, the Director of Finance has frequent direct contact with Governors and the Heads and attends the Governors' Finance and Risk Committee meetings.

The Director of Finance is a member of the Business Senior Management Team and leads a team of 8 staff, comprising the Management Accountant, Payroll and People Accountant, Fees Controller, Interim Project Accountant, Purchase Ledger Assistant and two Finance Assistants. A new role of Financial Accountant has been established and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence this role and appointment.

Job Description

• Formulate the financial strategy of the School alongside Governors and the Executive Leadership Team (consisting of the two Heads and the Bursar).
• Attend meetings of the Finance and Risk Committee of the Board of Governors, preparing financial reports and papers and leading on financial items tabled for discussion or decision.
• Attend and contribute to ad-hoc Governor meetings and discussions as required.
• Alongside the Bursar and the Heads, implement the School's strategic financial plans.
• Work closely with ELT to formulate operational spending plans and priorities.
• Work closely with the Director of HR on people strategies.
• Exhibit the behaviours and standards befitting a senior leader of St George's Weybridge, demonstrating and promoting the School's ethos and values.

• Control of the treasury management function in order to ensure the most efficient and secure deployment of cash.
• Ensuring compliance with external regulators, including HMRC, the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Being responsible for accurate and timely tax returns and tax reclaims, with professional advice where necessary, preparing recommendations for mitigating potential VAT and any other tax liabilities.

The Successful Applicant

• Formal Accounting qualification and experience of working in the commercial, educational or charity sectors.
• Experience of compliance with legislation and regulations relevant to the position

A medium sized health education charity is seeking a Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.

The organisation is an established charity that provides information and guidance on various aspects of veganism. Services range from general advice on vegan lifestyle – diet, travel, shopping etc, campaigning activities, additional services to charity members, and the certification and labelling of products based on their internationally recognised Vegan Trademark.

The organisation has around 65 staff with a turnover of around £4 million annually. Their central offices are in Birmingham, however this role can be taken on almost exclusively remotely – it is anticipated that there will be approximately 6 journeys per year required either to the Birmingham office or another mutually agreeable location – for staff events and meetings.

The role sits within a small finance team of 3, and will be highly varied covering most aspects of transactional finance. The starting salary is between £29,413 - £31,508, however they have regular salary reviews and growth in the role is possible. They also have an excellent benefits package including a pension scheme, employee assistance programme, 28 days leave + bank holidays, plus additional leave available as part of a sustainable transportation climate perks policy.

The ideal candidate will be AAT part-qualified with experience in a similar Finance Officer level role. Exposure to double-entry bookkeeping and an understanding of charity finance would be an advantage. Experience with Sage accounting is also useful. The organisation is a flexible employer and although the role is ultimately permanent they welcome applicants wishing to be considered on a part-time basis as part of a job share, and will also consider candidates on a shorter term fixed term contract basis if this is preferable to a permanent contract initially.

Typical duties will include:

-Work closely with the sales team and raise invoices in accordance with the sales process.

-Support the credit control function and chase outstanding payments for renewals and new business.

Candidate requirements:

-AAT part or fully-qualified

About the role

As Programme Finance Officer you will provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept proposals to final reports. For an International NGO operating in 40 countries worldwide, we are recruiting a Donor Finance Cost and Pricing Manager - Programme Design and Development. Reporting to the Senior Cost and Pricing Manager, this role will partner with the Programme Design and Development Team to secure new funding via first-class responses to country-level, multi-country, regional and global opportunities for donor funding. This role will support the team in ensuring overall quality of cost proposals and bid submissions while building capability of in-country support teams to create effective cost proposals and program budgets.

Main Duties:

• Develop Cost Proposals: Supporting the proposal development processes and coordinate the Donor cost proposal; reviewing budget templates and cost guidance for country programs, ensuring all Donor cost requirements are met. Travel to country programme to assist in budget building as required

As Finance Officer will help support the finance Team by:

• Administering financial tasks and help the General Manager in the areas of financial planning and reporting
• Preparing payments in multiple currencies of invoices, grants, salaries, and expenses
• Generating invoices, confirming receipts and donations,pursuing unresolved receivables and composing essential correspondence
• Production of monthly management accounts and essential financial reports for funders or stakeholders as needed.
• Coordination of the tracking of restricted funds.
• Address payment queries and issue remittance advice.
• Checking and organising of expense claims
• Working with online donation systems (e.g., JustGiving, Enthuse, Facebook), running reports and manipulating exported data
• Reconciliation of bank statements and petty cash balances in multiple currencies
• Assisting with external audit preparation and responding to audit requests
• Supporting the Finance Director in finance, budgeting, and planning tasks.
• Liaising with the management team on membership dues

As Finance Officer your skills and experience will be:

• AAT level 3 qualification or equivalent
• Experience in a charity or non-profit organisation.
• Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Knowledge of accounting software, such as QuickBooks.

This a rare and exciting opportunity to join Hubbub’s leadership team. Our new Director of Finance will take a proactive role in ensuring the continued financial strength of the organisation, following a period of significant growth.

You’ll be responsible for leading the finance team and providing expert financial and business advice to the team and boards. You’ll be the one making sure that financial implications are fully considered in all strategic decision-making.

You’ll always be seeking to improve the usefulness of the information you provide and the impact of your insights. Taking pride in the accuracy and effectiveness of the systems you maintain to accurately measure financial performance and minimise risk will be critical to the success of this role.

The Role

 The Senior Finance Business Partner will oversee financial management of key programme areas for the charity.

· Provide financial analysis and commentary to support in strategic decision making in relation to programme areas

· Ensure financial and management reports are presented in an accessible way to finance and non-finance stakeholders alike

· Finance business partner across programme management teams to support in financial management reporting

· Support in the production and review of management accounts

· Create and deliver financial plans for programme areas including forecasting and reporting on performance against budgets.

· Liaise with wider team to ensure donor reporting standards are met for donor financial reports

• You must be ACCA, CIMA or ACA fully qualified finance professional

They are an established actor in the humanitarian community, working in partnership with humanitarian organisations, researchers, innovators, and the private sector to tackle some of the most difficult challenges facing people all over the world.

A Finance Assistant opportunity has come up to join their Grants Operations and Finance (GOF) team. They focus on managing financial planning, reporting and grant operations.

About the role
You will be working closely with the Management Accountant and all other team members to coordinate and complete a range of finance and administration tasks to support accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring disbursements are made to Elrha grantees and service providers when due, and that transactional information for inclusion within donor funding reports are accurate. You will also act as a focal point, working in close collaboration with SCUK colleagues, to ensure that the details relating to all grantee and suppliers of goods and services are correctly recorded in the finance system in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities
* Closely collaborate with the Grant Operations and Finance (GOF) team members to ensure payments for Elrha grantees (both existing and new) are disbursed when due.
* Ensure that all Elrha supplier invoices are processed in a timely manner.
* Work closely with the management accountant to ensure that all costs are correctly codes and allocated to the appropriate cost centre and donor
* Ensure that all new suppliers of goods and services are correctly set up in the accounting system.
* Collect and input purchase order requisition requests into the accounting system
* Ensure that requisitions are approved by the authorising signature on receipt on invoice.
* Support change requests to purchase orders.

About you
You will have:
* Previous experience in tasks associated with financial administration including the monitoring financial expenditure reports and undertaking basic financial processing.
* Experience of basic finance and accounting principles and processes with a high level of numeracy
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience of working within an NGO / charitable organisation

You will be:
* Resourceful, proactive, flexible and with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
* High degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft packages, including SharePoint.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills including the ability to plan, prioritise and ensure implementation of work to required standards and tight deadlines, often under pressure.
* Willingness to adopt hybrid working practices including attending offices in Cardiff and/or London on occasion and as required.

Desirable:
* AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting.
* Experience in IATI data publication and Agresso finance system.
* Knowledge of humanitarian/development sector and donor requirements.
* Experience in stakeholder management and policy implementation.
