As part of this, the Head of Fundraising and Development will play a pivotal role by developing a fundraising strategy to support the charity’s growth and diversify their income, growing the reach and impact of their communications and ensuring they are able to evidence their impact in a compelling way to different audiences.

As Head of Fundraising and Development, you will: 

• act as a proactive and collaborative member of the Senior Leadership Team, supporting the CEO to develop the vision and strategy for the organisation, drive its implementation and make decisions about the running of the organisation, role modelling and embedding our values;
• act as an inspiring and supportive leader for the team, motivating, coaching and overseeing their delivery and development, supporting them to achieve their potential;
• develop and deliver a new ambitious fundraising strategy aligned to out 2024-27 organisational strategy to grow and diversify our funding, setting, monitoring and delivering targets and managing risks as appropriate;
• work with the senior leadership team to set annual budgets and fundraising targets and monitor income and expenditure to ensure funding targets are being met;
• work collaboratively with policy, campaigns and communications colleagues to develop and deliver a new communications strategy to build our profile, deliver income, grow and engage supporters and advance campaigning objectives, setting, monitoring and delivering targets and managing risks as appropriate.

​​Ideal skills and experience: 

• Previous success of developing a fundraising strategy in the charity sector to achieve growth targets across multiple income streams and particularly trusts and foundations, individual giving and corporates.
• Significant experience in a senior fundraising role, with a strong background in trusts and foundations and digital fundraising strategies and campaigns and experience of successfully managing a large number of restricted grants.
• Strategic thinker with an understanding of the interface between communication and influencing and communication and fundraising and a data-driven approach to shaping how we engage different audiences to create mutual value across fundraising and influencing objectives.
• Experience of successfully building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at a senior level, particularly with trusts and foundations and corporates.
• Experience of staff management and development and successfully supporting them to achieve their potential.

• Support internal stakeholders, including Elizabeth Finn Homes, partners, and funders on the brand’s values, identity, and guidelines through training, inductions and up-to-date brand guidelines.
• Collaboratively develop Turn2us’ marketing and communications strategy and develop an annual calendar of activity in harmony with our work, vision, purpose, values and strategy.
• Develop and manage our traditional and social media presence as well as developing profile through collaboration with key influencers, editors and journalists.
• In partnership with the Head of Supporter Engagement and the Head of Policy and Influence, plan and execute content marketing campaigns, including creating and distributing digital content including blog posts, articles, videos and infographics.
• Plan and lead the delivery of key publications and events including the Annual Report and stakeholder engagement events.
• Define, develop and implement national campaigns aimed at key poverty issues in order to raise awareness of the charity’s services.

Prostate Cancer Research is seeking a Head of Individual Giving to oversee their individual donor, legacy and in memory income streams, currently raising approximately £800k per annum.

Prostate Cancer Research aims to develop and deliver breakthrough medicines and treatments to achieve a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. The charity believes that it is only through research that we can build a future in which no family will have to fear losing a loved one to prostate cancer. In the last four years the charity has expanded the amount of research it funds by four times.

This is a newly created role to increase the impact of the fundraising strategy, lead on its implementation and set the foundations for the future growth in an area of fundraising where the charity believes there is huge potential. It’s also an exciting opportunity to take the results of a current strategic review on individual giving and take the insight and tools gathered to build the individual giving programme and develop a strategy for people, products and campaigns to grow income.

The charity is seeking a professional with a great understanding and track record of success in individual giving and who is keen to explore new audiences and innovative approaches. You will have experience in executing acquisition, retention and growth strategies and of achieving significant income growth through individual donations, in memory and legacy income streams. You will also have strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to maximise new opportunities and help the charity achieves its organisational goals. Finally, you will have a firm belief in the work that Prostate Cancer Research carry out.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Finance to join the team on a fixed term contract (maternity cover). As Head of Finance, you will ensure the right cost structure, financial operating platform, systems and controls are in place to deliver the charity’s vision and strategy. You will ensure robust financial controls and policies are in place and functioning effectively. This is a full-time, maternity cover contract, hybrid working in London.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will be a qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience and have a good understanding of financial systems and processes. You will have extensive experience of using finance systems eg Xledger and Adaptive Insights would be desirable. You will have good knowledge of Charities SORP, statutory accounting regulations, VAT, PAYE and other payroll taxes and Gift Aid. Experience of operating at and presenting ideas at senior level including at Board level is essential for the role. With excellent communications skills, you will have proven experience of coaching and training both finance and non-finance staff. An understanding of the voluntary sector would be a bonus however it is not essential for the role.
