Job Description

Children on the Edge works with vulnerable children, often refugees or displaced by conflict and oppression. Join our growing, dynamic fundraising team, who are motivated to help forgotten children across the globe.

About you

Are you someone with fantastic energy, ideas and a pro-active way of working that can help support our fantastic fundraisers and help us maximise income from challenge events, community fundraising and our regular donors?

We are a small but very relational team so the right candidate won’t be fazed by pitching in across our fundraising and communications team; picking up the phone to supporters, helping craft compelling communication that inspires our fundraisers and generous donors, but equally won’t mind posting out collecting tins and t-shirts.

With experience working in a fundraising, sales or marketing environment you will be able to develop and utilise your communication skills to motivate and inspire our fundraisers.

About the role

You will provide exceptional fundraising support and manage relationships with individual fundraisers, regular donors, challenge participants and community groups.

You will be pro-active in growing our participation in challenge events, and promoting fundraising opportunities to maximize our income and help seek support from new donors.

You will be able to write engaging copy, helping to create fundraising communication and marketing that engages with supporters through a variety of media; email, social media, local press and digital marketing.

You bring an attention to detail and skill in putting the supporter at the centre of all our fundraising, and you are able to keep our supporter database up to date quickly and accurately. As the Fundraising and Communication Officer you will frequently be the first person a supporter speaks to or meets and your role is critical in helping us develop their ongoing journey as a supporter of Children on the Edge.

About Children on the Edge

This is a great time to join Children on the Edge, our ‘on the edge’ projects are bringing significant change to some incredibly needy situations in Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Burma and Uganda.

We focus on those who have been overlooked by governments, larger organisations, the media and the international community. As part of a small UK team of 7 at our Head Office in Chichester, you will be helping to grow and develop our income from committed supporters, with the opportunity to help shape and create our communications and fundraising plans.
