We are looking for a Senior Individual Giving Officer for an incredible arts charity to be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of individual giving campaigns across a range of media, from planning to execution.
This is hybrid role with 2 days a week in the London office
The Charity

The Role
Prepare content and creative briefs to ensure campaigns include content that drives fundraising engagement and positive outcomes.
Coordinate schedules and suppliers, delivering copy, artwork, and assets from briefing through to final print, production/ broadcast.
Monitor response and income from Individual Giving activity, gather insights, and analyse data to report on the return on investment and complete post-campaign reviews.
Advise on and run data selections for Individual Giving campaigns and segmentation of donors, working with the IT team in more complex cases.
The Candidate
At least 2 years experience in a similar role in the charity sector.
A successful track record in delivering IG fundraising activities to deliver strategic objectives.
Experience in analysis within CRM systems to manage data and report performance.
Understanding of segmentation and how to speak to different (existing and prospect) audiences.

The purpose of the role

The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience in a fundraising capacity, with a successful track record of meeting targets and personally soliciting and securing 5-figure+ philanthropic gifts.
- Evidence of relationship management to proactively develop a portfolio of prospects employing creative strategies to engage them.
- Demonstrable prospect research skills.
- Evidence of ability to write persuasively, and experience of creating compelling fundraising materials.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the necessary listening, facilitation, negotiation, and diplomatic skills to represent the NT, and to achieve immediate credibility and influence with high net worth individuals, and internal and external stakeholders.

2. Job Description
The Head of External Engagement is a key leadership post within the organisation. The role encompasses responsibility for the development and delivery of the organisation’s external activity, including profile, brand identity and stakeholder engagement (including the public), fundraising, and driving income generation in new areas, notably commercial partnerships. It also forms part of Sound and Music’s senior management team, who under the leadership of the Chief Executive are responsible for overseeing the organisation’s programme of activity, strategic development, external profile and a positive and productive organisational culture.
An experienced fundraiser and communicator, you will lead the external engagement team and support the delivery of its strategic and operational plans. The broad remit of the role means the successful candidate will be a strong and confident communicator who builds networks easily and prioritises exceptional stakeholder management and relationship development.

3. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and management
External leadership:
· Represent Sound and Music publicly, including through stakeholder and supporter events
· Work with the Head of Programmes to ensure Sound and Music’s advisory groups are meaningfully engaged
· Be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Sound and Music
Internal leadership:
· Shared strategic responsibility and accountability for Sound and Music’s three core aims and their associated objectives, outcomes and outputs
· Shared accountability (with other senior management colleagues) for the successful delivery and implementation of the organisation’s Business Plan
· Lead the organisation’s External Engagements team. This team includes a Communications and Insights Manager and Fundraising Coordinator (both line managed by the Head of External Engagement) plus support from other Sound and Music team members
Development and fundraising
· Develop and support the Chief Executive on the overall business and development strategy for the organisation to ensure we meet fundraising targets (£200k in 2024-25) for annual programmes and major projects
· Develop an ambitious fundraising programme which builds our supporter base and individual funding streams, including individuals, major gifts and public funders
· Drive income growth by identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships and contribute to the development of an enhanced commercial mindset across the organisation
· Develop and cultivate the existing trusts and foundations pipeline
· Prepare documents and reports for key funders including Arts Council England
· Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key funders, commercial organisations and stakeholders and cultivate existing relationships within the organisation
· Establish new income streams, for example, by maximising the intellectual property created within the organisation
· Engage the Board of Trustees and senior management team in fundraising activities and the ongoing strategy to optimise donor management and stewardship to develop a culture of fundraising across the organisation
· Maximise the opportunities provided by the new CRM system and contribute to the development of a data-led mindset across the organisation
Communications and campaigns
· Develop and lead the overall communications and reputation management strategy for varied stakeholders to ensure we increase our visibility and influence in the sector
· Support the Chief Executive to build the profile of our brand, drive the media messaging and oversee and power our content media campaigns
· Support the Chief Executive to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with government and culture and media opinion formers
Strategy and planning
· Work with the Chief Executive and other senior management team members to monitor, evaluate and review KPIs, strategies and activity so as to maximise Sound and Music’s impact. This includes reporting and presenting to the Board and externally to help build engagement and relationships in the sector and with funders
· Assess the reputational, financial, delivery and other risks associated with current and new projects and partnerships
· Empower, model, support and encourage cross-team working to realise the full income generating possibilities of projects
Finance and governance
· Contribute to creating and monitoring the overall organisation budget
· Work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Programmes and Finance Manager to formulate financial strategy against specified budget areas, and to ensure that the programme activity is sufficiently resourced, planned and delivered to budget
· Ensure close monitoring of income and expenditure for relevant budget lines and contribute to senior management team financial planning and review
· Attend Board and Financial Subcommittee meetings to present and report impact on a quarterly basis
Special conditions of the post
· Travel within the UK, as required by the role

We are one of just two adult social care facilities in the UK that is dedicated to the support of members of the theatre dance and music professions. While some achieve notable success, there are many who do not and pursuing a career in theatre and the arts can be a precarious business.
Denville Hall already provides a range of residential care services that are tailored to individual need and wishes, which can support people over time. The addition of sheltered accommodation offers the opportunity for us to extend the length of care and support that we are able to offer members of the arts professions whom we exist to serve.
The need for sheltered housing accommodation is clear and present. Quite simply, people are living longer and like all of us, they want to be independent as possible for as long as possible.
We have the plans and all the necessary planning permission for what we anticipate will be a very successful and high-profile £12m capital appeal. Already we have support promised from some of the UK’s house-hold names and are hopeful that we will also receive support from trusts and foundations dedicated to the support of the arts.
All that is needed now is an Appeal Director to deliver on all the promise that exists and that will leave a last legacy for both Denville Hall for the next 100 years as we will celebrate our centenary in 2026.

The Wiener Holocaust Library is one of the world's leading and most extensive archives on the Holocaust, the Nazi era and genocide. The Library's unique collection of over one million items includes published and unpublished works, press cuttings, photographs and eyewitness testimony.
This year we celebrate our 90th birthday.
The Library has its origins in the work of Dr Alfred Wiener, who campaigned against Nazism during the 1920s and 30s and gathered evidence about antisemitism and the persecution of Jews in Germany.
We have a consistent track record of being able to generate the voluntary income needed on an annual basis in support of our core work, but we recognise that with additional resource we can achieve much more to both secure the long-term future of the Library and enhance our work.
This new role has been established to lead and implement the engagement strategy with both individual and organisational donors that builds a sustainable pipeline of philanthropic support to maintain and extend the work of the Wiener Holocaust Library and to secure its legacy for future generations in combating hate.
While the Library has a commendable track record for restricted funding, there is a strong need to increase unrestricted funding, which requires that we are effective in achieving greater diversity in our income streams and the donor constituency.
Our potential reach extends beyond the UK and our track record to date includes successfully engaging with U.S. funders, which is a foundation that can be built upon.

About the Role
As Head of Grants and Trusts you will work closely with the Director of Development to establish a new development department. You will build and lead the Grants and Trusts team in increasing income from statutory and lottery funders, private trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies in the UK and internationally.
You will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including the Arts Council England and National Lottery Heritage fund.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Significant fundraising experience in Trusts and Grants with demonstratable experience of securing funds between £50,000 and £1 Million
- You will have had experience in developing and delivering a fundraising strategy
- You will have had experience in working with the Arts Council and National lottery heritage fund
- You will have a good understanding of the UK funding environment

We are seeking to appoint a proactive Major Gifts Manager.
Purpose of the role:
The Major Gifts Manager reports to the Deputy Director of Development & Alumni Relations and, working alongside the fellow Major Gift Manager, will manage a portfolio of prospects and donors giving 5 to 7 figure gifts to support the College’s mission and vision.
The current Development & Alumni relations team is small, comprising 12 members at present, operating in a small postgraduate university of only approximately 418 FTE. The team is responsible for all philanthropic income to the College, currently through the successful Generation RCA campaign and for the relationship with the Colleges over 26,000 alumni.
It is important that any prospective employee is comfortable with the scale and ethos of a small postgraduate university. There is a strong sense of collegiality that drives the RCA's success and team members at all levels work together to a shared goal and purpose. The Major Gifts Manager will shape fundraising propositions from individuals both in the UK and internationally, dedicating time to stewarding and cultivating current and prospective donors to ensure renewals and developing new philanthropic income streams. As Major Gifts Manager, you will make a genuine and direct impact by working closely with academic colleagues to craft compelling and exciting fundraising proposals to actively support the RCA and its students.
The successful candidate will have experience of building relationships to successfully raise philanthropic gifts and meet agreed targets, an entrepreneurial flair with a high level of self-motivation and initiative, and a demonstrable desire to achieve results and make a difference. They will also have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, while maintaining thorough attention to detail, whilst working to tight deadlines.
