The role requires an organised and proactive person to join the Individual Giving team to increase loyalty and life-time value from MSF donors. You will be specifically supporting on fulfilment, appeals, Dispatches – MSF’s supporter magazine - legacy marketing, supporter events, thanking, and analysis & reporting.
This exciting role includes interviewing field staff, to gather information, news and stories from the field, to be shared through fundraising communications.
The Individual Giving is an integral part of the wider fundraising department at MSF, which is also made up of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Operations teams. In 2023 a team of around 35 people delivered income of over £77 million.

Job Purpose:
This role is vital for our high performing Individual Giving Team to operate effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a top performing fundraising team, for an International Humanitarian cause.
The Supporter Development Officer will manage and develop MSF’s fulfilment programme, ensuring MSF donors receive excellent communications including thanking processes, building excellent relationships with third party suppliers, and working in collaboration with other teams.
The role currently provides administration support to the legacy consultant, ensuring excellent care and quality communications for legacy pledgers.
The Supporter Development Officer provides weekly reports and analysis across all campaigns, sharing results with the wider team to help improve insight across channels.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in the UK charity sector, in a fundraising capacity, and/or direct marketing.

Role Summary

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Fundraising

Coordinating ACUK’s CRM system (ThankQ) and ensuring data accuracy including:
- New donor details, communications with supporters, gift aid and consent purposes
- Championing data cleansing and monthly de-duping of contacts

Coordinating all general fundraising enquiries including phone calls, fundraising & engagement email inboxes (providing holiday cover for the training & consultancy inbox) and post.

Coordinating lead generation from third party challenge event companies and converting leads into participants

Coordinating fundraising resources and merchandise including;
- Sending out materials to supporters
- Compiling fulfilment reports from online shop and sending over to fulfilment agency
- Monitoring stock levels of fundraising materials and shop merchandise

Maintaining up to date filing systems

Supporting with research for Trusts & Foundation applications

Processing all physical (cash and cheques) and online donations received in accordance with ACUK’s cash handling procedures, including;
- Counting and processing cheques/cash
- Logging all donations on a central post sheet
- Processing and reporting on all donations received through the ACUK website and all third-party platforms
- Ensuring all donors are thanked in a timely manner in line with their communication preferences
- Importing all donation data to ThankQ
Engagement programme

Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from our volunteers (Community Champions) and, alongside the Fundraising & Engagement Manager, steward our volunteers including the coordination of volunteer activities.

Identify opportunities for supporters of different types to discover new ways to engage with them (for example helping donors become campaigners or encouraging cultural change activists to become community fundraisers, etc).

About the team
Sitting under the Communications and Engagement team at Shelter Scotland, our tight-knit team comprises of a Supporter Mobilisation Manager, a Senior Marketing and Brand Executive, a Marketing Executive as well as a Supporter Engagement Executive (this role). About the role

About you

As well as having excellent communication skills, you’ll be a data-driven individual who is able and confident to assess the impact of work while adopting a test and learn approach. We’re looking for an experienced and driven individual giving acquisition expert to join the Growth and Acquisition within Mass Engagement. You will be joining the Stroke Association at an exciting and important moment as they continue to develop, diversify and significantly build our individual donor bases and income.
As Supporter Acquisition Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Acquiring new supporters at scale in order to grow income across our cash, regular giving and lottery programmes
- Testing, validating and optimising propositions across a broad range of products and channels
- Playing a key role in the strategic evolution of the Acquisition programme as the charity continue to develop, diversify and significantly build our individual donor bases and associated income
Ideal skills and experience:
- Multi-year budget development, planning and forecasting
- Line management experience or support of a peer
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

As the Supporter Journeys and Retention Officer, you will execute and evaluate campaigns aimed at engaging and retaining supporters, using a variety of direct marketing channels. To be a successful Supporter Journeys and Retention Officer , you’ll need:
- Experience of direct marketing customer / supporter engagement, preferably within a fundraising role i.e. in individual giving or in memory
