About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing within a values-driven organisation. As our Digital Marketing Intern, you will support WGN’s online presence and campaigns to inform, engage and mobilise audiences—including survivors, professionals, funders and the wider public.

Your work will help more women and girls access support quickly, while contributing to awareness and advocacy to end violence against women and girls.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll gain experience across a wide range of digital marketing activities, including:

• Creating and publishing survivor-sensitive content across social media and web platforms
• Designing graphics and short-form video content (e.g. Canva, CapCut, Adobe)
• Supporting website updates and basic SEO to improve access to support services
• Assisting with email campaigns and newsletters (e.g. Mailchimp)
• Contributing to digital campaigns and awareness activity, including key VAWG dates
• Supporting marketing for WGN’s training programmes and partnerships
• Monitoring engagement and using analytics (e.g. GA4, social insights) to inform improvements
• Helping ensure online spaces remain safe, respectful and aligned with safeguarding practices

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Administration

Person Specification

Essential

• At least 2–4 years’ relevant professional experience, ideally within an NGO, charity, public interest or mission-driven organisation.
• Experience supporting financial administration, including invoices, expenses, payment processing or financial record-keeping.
• Experience of project coordination, grants administration or organisational operations.

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and proactive Strategic Partnerships Manager to help grow sustainable income and strengthen Henshaws Sight Loss Services across Greater Manchester.

This is a key role for someone who can spot opportunities, build influential relationships and turn conversations into contracts, partnerships and income. You will work across public sector commissioning, corporate partnerships, VCSE networks, community organisations and wider Greater Manchester systems to help position Henshaws as a trusted partner in sight loss support.

You will identify and pursue opportunities with NHS, Local Authority, ICS and ICB partners, public health, social care, SEND and sight loss pathways. You will also grow corporate income through proactive prospecting, sponsorship approaches, employer engagement and partnership development.

Working closely with our Sight Loss operational teams, you will help shape service models, proposals, bids and tenders that reflect local need and clearly demonstrate the impact of Henshaws work.

What you will be doing

You will:

• Identify and develop commissioning, contract and funding opportunities across Greater Manchester.
• Build relationships with NHS, Local Authority, public health, social care, VCSE, corporate and community partners.

• You will have experience in business development, sales, income generation or strategic partnerships within a target driven environment. You will understand the sales cycle, from prospecting and first contact through to scoping, pitching, negotiation and relationship management.
• You will be confident preparing bids, tenders or commercial proposals, and able to translate service knowledge, financial information and policy priorities into strong, persuasive proposals.

• Experience within a charity, VCSE, health or education setting would be valuable. Community Fundraiser (Covering North Liverpool, Southport, Knowsley & St Helens)

As part of our community team, you will place our supporters at the heart of everything you do by cultivating and stewarding relationships to provide a first-class experience. You are outgoing, independent, able to work instinctively, and confident in making approaches to garner new support.  You will have the ability to translate our story to develop and inspire our volunteers and engage with a wide range of community contacts and high street corporates. You'll be joining the charity during an exciting period of growth, as we develop our community volunteer led income with the aim of increasing charity reach and recognition in pursuit of our team targets and goals.

Ideally you will have experience of working in a fundraising environment (paid or voluntary), or be able to demonstrate transferable skills within a customer-facing role, and the ability to manage relationships with a diverse range of people.
