Dementia UK is looking for a Stewardship Executive to join our Philanthropy and Partnerships team. This is an exciting new role to the charity as a result of our five-year strategy and ambitious plans to grow and diversify our income. This role will help to deliver a consistent and meaningful experience for supporters across Philanthropy and Partnerships.

This is a varied coordination and supporter stewardship role at the centre of the team. You will play a key role in coordinating stewardship activities such as thanking, supporter communications and cultivation and stewardship events, including our annual carol concert. You will support internal processes, ensure fundraisers are well-supported to build strong relationships and hold some of your own, and support the Prospect Research Manager with prospect tracking and pipeline processes.

We are looking for you to have experience of administrative or coordination work ideally in a fundraising, charity or customer-focused setting or have an interest in this setting. You will be highly organised, proactive and confident managing multiple priorities. You will have strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and supporters.

Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager — Go Beyond £35,000–£37,000 | Fully Remote | Permanent | Full-time

Go Beyond has given over 21,000 vulnerable children life-changing residential breaks since 1994. Young carers who spend their days looking after parents. Children living in poverty for whom a school holiday means hunger, not adventure. Children who've been bullied or bereaved and need a week away from their ordinary life.

The charity is entirely self-funded. £1.8 million a year, every penny raised by supporters. No government money. Which means the work this fundraising team does is directly and specifically what makes those breaks possible.

This is the role that sits at the heart of that.

What makes this moment unusual:

Go Beyond's flagship campaign, Ice Cream Moments, launches this summer — backed by Louis Theroux, James Acaster, David Gower and Jenny Agutter. The trustees want to go viral. A legacy programme is built and ready to launch. An alumni programme connecting with 21,000+ former beneficiaries is research-complete and waiting for someone to open the door. And a loyal supporter base of 200–300 regular givers — many of whom have been giving for over a decade — is generating £90,000 a year with almost no stewardship behind it.

Sara, the Director of Fundraising, describes what's needed like this: "Think of this as your own company. Think of this income stream as your domain — you could make it something amazing."

What the role involves:

The Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager will own the supporter communications function end to end. This is a project management and strategy role — not an execution role. The doing sits with two direct reports and a network of freelancers. Your job is to build the plan, manage the team, deliver the campaigns and make sure the data tells you what's working.

In practice that means:

• Building and managing proper supporter journeys for regular givers, challenge event runners and Ice Cream Moments donors
• Project managing the full campaigns calendar — four annual appeals, Ice Cream Moments, challenge events, and a growing digital communications programme
• Developing and implementing a data strategy, setting up income dashboards and overseeing the CRM
• Launching the legacy programme and, in time, the alumni programme
• Managing two direct reports: a Digital Marketing Officer and a Data & Admin / Challenge Events Officer
• Writing an 18-month strategy with proper pipelines and income forecasts

What we're looking for:

This is not a pure fundraiser role or a pure marketing role. It's a hybrid — and the right person will see that as a feature, not a confusion.

• A track record of owning campaigns end to end — not being part of them, owning them. Specific examples, with dates, outputs and results
• Genuine data literacy — comfortable in a CRM, able to run queries, understand segmentation. Not expert-level, but curious enough that you're never caught out
• Financial awareness — you ask what the target is before anything else. You work backwards from an income number
• Hands-on as well as strategic — you can delegate and direct, but you can also do
• Strong project management — multiple workstreams, freelancers, deadlines you can't move

Charity sector experience is welcome but not essential. Commercial direct marketing, agency-side or individual giving backgrounds are all genuinely considered.

As Children’s Palliative Community Clinical Lead, you will:

• Manage and be responsible for the supervision and development of a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrate expertise in symptom management and end of life care including after death care, to support staff to develop skills
• Holistically assess the situation and needs of children with life limiting conditions inclusive of family needs and demonstrate specialist clinical knowledge for the delivery of high-quality patient care

We operate a hybrid, flexible working style and fortnightly office attendance is required. The role is contracted to our Peterborough office and the team currently come together in person once a month. You will also be required to regularly attend external meetings and events.

The Supporter Experience Design Team is central to ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of Mind's supporter data, underpinning our fundraising success.

Acting as the backbone of our data import processes, we work closely with colleagues and external partners to deliver high-quality, reliable data that maximises our charitable impact. Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

Lead Mind's Gift Aid function to maximise income from fundraising activities.

Work cross-functionally with Fundraising, Finance and Compliance teams to optimise Gift Aid performance.

Ensure best practice in the collection, processing and claiming of Gift Aid across all income streams.

Monitor, improve and embed efficient Gift Aid processes, adapting to new products and income opportunities.

Provide insight and reporting to teams to help maximise Gift Aid income and performance.

Develop clear, engaging messaging to promote tax-efficient giving to supporters.

Maintain full compliance with HMRC regulations and internal governance requirements.

Act as Mind's subject matter expert and first point of contact for all Gift Aid queries.

Build strong relationships with HMRC, sector peers and internal stakeholders to share best practice.

Lead on Gift Aid audits, including HMRC visits, ensuring robust audit trails and implementation of recommendations.

Oversee document management and archiving systems for Gift Aid declarations, including third-party records.

Contribute to wider organisational objectives through leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

The Head of Major Donors will play a critical role in strengthening and stewarding Mission 44’s relationships with high-value donors, philanthropists, and strategic supporters.

This role will work alongside the Chief Engagement Officer to lead the development and delivery of a thoughtful, personalised and impactful Major Donors programme that deepens donor pipeline and engagement, increases contributions, strengthens long-term relationships, and inspires continued investment in Mission 44’s mission and impact.

The successful candidate will combine exceptional relationship management skills, a solid network of donors, strong project coordination and communications, with strategic thinking.

They will work closely across fundraising, communications, programmes and leadership teams to ensure donors experience meaningful engagement with Mission 44’s work, values and community.

Requirements

MAJOR DONOR CULTIVATION AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (70%) 

• Lead the organisation’s cultivation of new donors and deepening of the major donor pipeline. 
• Personally lead the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major donors and prospects for six/seven-figure gifts.
• Lead the implementation of Mission 44’s global major donor stewardship strategy, ensuring all major donors feel engaged in and inspired. 
• Manage and coordinate stewardship plans for high-value donors and philanthropic partners
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with major supporters through thoughtful and personalised engagement
• Develop tailored donor journeys that reflect supporter interests, motivations and impact priorities
• Identify opportunities to deepen donor engagement and increase long-term support
• Provide administrative support for the Global Growth Committee
• Work with Head of Engagement and Events to plan and deliver donor engagement opportunities at events, briefings, roundtables and programme visits to bring donors closer to our work 
• Support leadership engagement with major donors and key stakeholders
• Coordinate donor experiences linked to Mission 44 campaigns, partnerships and strategic moments
• Help create meaningful opportunities for supporters to connect with Mission 44’s mission, young people and impact

DONOR COMMUNICATIONS AND IMPACT REPORTING (20%)

• Ensure donors receive timely, high-quality communication and reporting
• Coordinate the creation of bespoke donor updates, reports and impact communications
• Work collaboratively with programme and communications teams to translate impact into compelling donor narratives
• Work with the communications team to ensure stewardship materials are high quality, aligned to brand and reflective of Mission 44’s values
• Support the development of case studies, impact stories and donor-facing content

SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT AND COLLABORATION (10%) 

• Maintain accurate donor records, engagement tracking and stewardship activity within CRM systems
• Monitor stewardship activity, timelines and reporting commitments
• Contribute to donor analysis, segmentation and fundraising insights
• Work closely with wider fundraising colleagues, communications and impact teams to deliver integrated supporter engagement
• Support senior leadership and ambassadors with donor preparation, briefing materials and relationship management
• Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing fundraising culture

ABOUT YOU: SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL 

• Significant experience in major donor cultivation, stewardship, philanthropy or high-value relationship management
• Proven track record of managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, philanthropists or strategic supporters
• Experience developing and delivering donor stewardship plans and engagement strategies
• Proven success in the direct solicitation and stewardship of six- and seven-figure philanthropic contributions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience producing high-quality donor reports and communications
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Experience working with CRM systems and donor databases
• Some travel, particularly to the US

About the role

As our Philanthropy Officer, you will support the delivery of our major donor programme, helping to steward a committed community of donors and ensuring that relationships, communications and records are managed accurately and professionally.

You will provide high-quality supporter care, carry out research to identify new prospects, and help coordinate cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activity so that donors feel valued and informed about the impact of their support.

Working closely with the Head of Giving & Communications and wider Fundraising team, you will support the planning and delivery of major donor activity, including coordinating communications and events, maintaining donor data and contributing to reporting.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with around two years experience in fundraising, ideally with exposure to individual giving or major donor fundraising, and so this role would suit someone early in their fundraising career who is looking to specialise in major donor fundraising, and keen to learn how to build and steward high-value relationships that generates income and long-term support.

You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. You will be a strong communicator, confident building relationships with supporters and colleagues, and motivated to deliver a high standard of supporter care.
