The Role 

This is a newly created opportunity for you to support all aspects of bid writing, grant applications, and responding to tenders at Best Beginnings. This will include collaborating with colleagues and partners to develop and execute engaging applications to a range of funders to support our work. 

You will be a confident writer, able to communicate the value of our work clearly and succinctly, ideally with previous experience writing and/or assisting with grant and bid proposals. Experience in the charity sector is not essential but highly desired. 

Working with the Head of Fundraising, you will focus on identifying new funding opportunities, planning approaches, gathering information, and writing high quality, compelling applications, to generate additional income for us to further develop our services. 

You will also be identifying appropriate funding sources for organisations we support, providing them with guidance on writing high quality applications, planning their year, and developing a suite of resources with the communications team to enable this. 

You will need experience of writing content and developing applications to large and small funding bodies. You will be able to evidence securing income and be skilled in presenting complex project information in a clear and engaging way. 

With exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), a mind for collaboration in a team, scoping project potential, and facilitating team conversations to turn ideas into specific, actionable pathways for new and existing projects. 

Key Functions and Responsibilities 

• Consult with department heads to understand resource allocation and priorities of work 

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of competitor landscapes, and funding opportunities to develop a bid writing strategy and plan of action 

• Craft persuasive and articulate written content for bids, proposals, and tender responses 

• Lead the end-to-end bid management process with support from our team

About The Felix Project

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.
 
Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. 
 
We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to London charities, schools, food banks, COVID food hubs and other organisations serving people in need. Purpose of the Job

The Trusts and Foundations Officer will support the step change in growth of the Statutory, Trusts and Foundations income stream for The Felix Project. The team is expanding and is challenged to raise £2 million in income in 2024 from Trusts and Foundations. This target will continue to grow over the years.

You will collaborate closely with both the Trusts and Foundations Manager and the Senior Trusts and Foundations Manger to manage the warm portfolio through excellent stewardship, and to build on this strong foundation to create a high-quality pipeline of new funding opportunities to reach our aspirational income targets. The strategic direction of the team is set by the Head of Statutory Funding, Trusts and Foundations who reports to the Director of Income Generation and Marketing.

Main Responsibilities

To work delegated idea notes into fundable project profiles, each with a clear and compelling case for support.

To create a clear and compelling case for support for unrestricted grants income.

To agree full cost recovery arrangements with the Chief Executive.

To be responsible for an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, developing knowledge of, and relationships with, those funders.

To make strong applications to funders within the assigned portfolio, matching YMCA Doncaster’s agreed cases for support with funders’ interests and requirements.

To work to regularly reviewed and achievable targets.

To prepare and give presentations, maintain ongoing contact and host trustee or representative visits where required as part of an application process. 

To devise efficient evaluation and monitoring systems which meet funder requirements.

To oversee the accurate completion of returns and reports, ensuring that funders are satisfied and funding continues.

To keep comprehensive records, in an agreed format, from initial contact with a potential funder through to either the rejection correspondence or the funding agreement and subsequent monitoring and evaluation.

To supervise / oversee grants volunteers and less experienced staff applying for smaller grants. 

To comply with fundraising and other legislation relevant to the role.

To recommend updates to the Fundraising Policy in accordance with changes to legislation or operating practice.

To report to the Chief Executive monthly in the required format.

About the role 
We are looking for someone who wants to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, taking the lead on generating the income required to deliver the Farm’s services and maintain our central functions and infrastructure. With support from the Farm’s Director, who is an experienced fundraiser, you will develop and implement the fundraising strategy for the Farm, leading on the delivery of key activities, initiatives and opportunities.

Role outline and purpose
The Trussell Trust are seeking a Philanthropy Executive - Trusts to join our high-performing Trusts team. The role supports the Trussell Trust by raising money from charitable trusts, focusing specifically on Tier 3 trusts (giving up to c.£10,000). You will coordinate a programme of regular stewardship communications to our current givers, fundraise from new prospects through mailings and occasional applications, provide administrative support to the wider team, and ensure that records of communications are kept up to date.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate and send mass mailings to Tier 3 charitable trusts, thanking supporters and requesting further support where appropriate
• Develop compelling, persuasive and up-to-date bulk communications to encourage Tier 3 trusts to give regularly, and keep them informed of the Trussell Trust’s achievements and future plans, coordinating with other fundraising teams where appropriate 
• Manage a caseload of c.500 Tier 3 trusts, maintaining accurate records on our CRM database and carrying out analysis on these trusts as necessary
• Liaise with the Supporter Care and Trusts team to ensure that gifts from trusts are coded, thanked and recorded correctly on our database 
• Create and submit occasional funding applications and impact reports for Tier 3 trusts, and offer support to the wider team with their trusts where necessary

Harington is an Ofsted registered specialist college based in North London rated good, working with around 52 young people with learning differences aged 16-25. We specialise in horticulture, retail and general employability. Our students undertake individualised learning programmes and supported internships that lead to vocational qualifications and achieving other aims. Our charity has two learning centres in Highgate and Hornsey. We also operate a gardening business and two charity shops, providing income for our charity, work experience placements for our students and employment for 14 young people. The person 

The role will suit someone who has had some prior experience in successfully raising funds ideally from trusts and foundations and/or from community fundraising. Essential skills 

You will have:-

• 18-24 months of prior fundraising experience 

• Experience of successfully prospecting for, preparing and managing fundraising bids and stewarding funder/commissioner relationship

We are looking for a Trust Fundraiser for a well known national health charity, to work in a supportive team of five and secure income from medium-sized grant-giving charitable trusts and foundations.

This is a hybrid role with at least one day a week in the London office.

The Role
Support the Head Of Trust, Senior Trusts Officer and Executive to deliver c£1m team income target.

Provide first class stewardship to a portfolio of mid value donors, seeking to retain them as well as uplift their donations, wherever possible. Current warm pipeline sits c£150k.

Research new trust supporters, build a warm pipeline and submit well written trust proposals to funders for applications c £10-30k value. Targeted income for this role is c£100k.

Work with the case for support lead to support service information requests from fundraising teams and translate them into project briefs and compelling case for support materials.

Maintain accurate, up to date and comprehensive records of trusts on the fundraising database or CRM system (currently Raisers Edge).

The Candidate
Experience of securing gifts of over 10k from trusts.

Experience of maintaining relationships with funders and providing tailored donor care and stewardship plans.

Experience of project-based fundraising and the development of restricted and unrestricted propositions within a fundraising team.

Experience of developing pipelines of trust income and activity.

We are looking for a Trusts & Philanthropy Manager for an inspiring health charity to manage your own portfolio of charitable trusts and support the developing major donor and statutory funding relationships for an incredible health charity.

This role can be UK remote working or Hybrid working with the Hampshire office.

The Role
Support the Head Of Trusts and Philanthropt to develop and implement plans to grow income primarily from trusts, but potentially from major donors and statutory funders in the longer term.

Line manage the Senior Trusts Officer or Trusts Officer.

Deliver exemplar stewardship and relationship management to donors which responds to their individual needs and inspires continued support, mostly through written and telephone communications but also includes participation in events, visits and meetings.

Carry out research to identify and cultivate prospective funders, discuss potential projects, submit excellent written applications and manage follow up.

The Candidate
A successful track record in trusts fundraising including securing 5 and 6 figure gifts.

Excellent writing skills for delivering proposals and reports and writing to a deadlines.

Experience in developing and maintaining relationships at all levels with excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent team working and collaborative working skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships, supporting colleagues across the organisation.

 Business Manager - P/T– 26 hours per week

Dyscover is a small, specialist charity providing long term support and opportunities to adults with aphasia, a complex language disability. We are looking for an experienced Business Manager with a strong Fundraising and Marketing background to join our team.

· Experience raising income from a range of income streams particularly Trusts and Foundations also including skills in managing events, individual donors, legacy, corporate and community fundraising.

· Finance and Project management experience.

· Strategic development skills.

· Health, wellbeing, and disability experience within the sector would be ideal.

· Marketing experience; organisational promotion, digital, social media, website and branding. Health service marketing would be an advantage.

· Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with good disability awareness. 

Location: Office based in Leatherhead KT22 0BN with free car parking.

Salary: £35k (pro-rated) 

This is an essential management role within an expanding, unique and innovative organisation which strives towards being a centre of excellence for people with aphasia.

A highly productive, energetic and extremely well organised individual is required to take responsibility for managing the business side of the charity.

In this rewarding role, you will need to be a strong team player with a good line management style, flexible and confident in initiating decisions, engaging with stakeholders, and communicating effectively. You will need to be able to simultaneously deliver on a number of key projects and funding applications and work to tight deadlines. Experience of working in the 3rd sector is essential.

You will be in regular contact with adults with care and support needs and their families and will play an important role within the organisation, so empathy, patience and a sense of humour are essential.
