JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
The Individual Giving Manager (Retention) will work within the Public Fundraising Team and play a key part in growing and sustaining income from our individual giving audiences of cash donors and regular giving supporters. You will work closely with the Deputy Director of Fundraising, Individual Giving Manager (Acquisition), Supporter Care Officer and Database Manager and will be responsible for the development, project management and delivery of the supporter retention, renewal and stewardship program. This is a great role for someone with existing individual giving fundraising experience, who would like the opportunity to use analysis and insights to develop and shape retention and stewardship activity, with the drive to deliver a program which aspires be best in class.

Role Responsibilities:
This role plays a key part in driving income growth and sustainability in our Individual Giving programme.
Your priorities will include:
· Driving the strategic and operational planning of Individual Giving to deliver strong income growth and return of investment (ROI), ensuring agreed targets and KPIs are achieved in relation to retention and conversion of existing donors.
· Devising and delivering the overall Individual Giving retention and stewardship budget to maximise opportunities for growth, preparing robust annual income and expenditure budgets and operational plans.
Strategy, planning and delivery:
· Develop and manage donor retention and upgrade for cash donors and regular givers across all channels to increase our supporter base, maximising ROI.
· Devise and deliver the overall Individual Giving retention and stewardship budget to maximise opportunities for growth, preparing robust annual income and expenditure budgets and ops plans, reforecasting these on a quarterly basis and engaging with month end processes.
· Lead the delivery of an impactful stewardship programme, which includes managing the supporter newsletter to optimise donor retention and development across all supporters, delivering exceptional donor experience; oversee timely responses to donors.
· Optimise data and data capture opportunities to help us better understand our supporters, inform strategy and ultimately deliver insight to help drive retention and lifetime value.
· Provide timely high-quality reporting with robust analysis and recommendations to improve performance – utilising your Individual Giving expertise and sector benchmarks.
· Adopt a test and learn mentality to strategic planning, developing new activities to provide the charity with a balanced portfolio of offers for new/existing donors.
· Direct and manage external suppliers to execute the Individual Giving retention programme to meet agreed budgets, timelines and KPIs.
· Support with the selection and appointment process for new external suppliers, effectively managing relationships to ensure the highest quality service.
· Ensure tools and processes are in place to effectively deliver objectives in collaboration with teams across the organisation.
Collaboration
· Identify opportunities to maximise value from our supporter base and seek opportunities to work with colleagues to facilitate cross-selling of relevant initiatives to engage donors, including mid-value, major gifts and legacies for example.
· Work collaboratively across the charity to develop exciting and relevant content across all Individual Giving activity, including the supporter newsletter, working with colleagues to identify where content could be applied to other communications and marketing channels.
· Keep abreast of new trends, tactics and competitor activity within the sector, disseminating new learnings and information throughout the team.
· Ensure that communications are compliant with all relevant bodies including HMRC, Gambling Commission, Fundraising Regulator, ICO, Charity Commission and ASA.
· Support other areas of fundraising by attending events, exhibitions etc. as required by a small team with varied engagements.
Management
· Carry out effective management of the Supporter Care Officer, ensuring the effective deployment of all their responsibilities.
· Be accountable for the management and development of the CRM database to maximise efficiency, working with the Database Manager to resolve any irregularities.
· Work closely with the Database Manager to establish criteria for data selection and extraction as necessary.
· Work with the Database Manager and Supporter Care Officer to ensure all donations are processed swiftly and accurately, Gift Aid income is maximised, and all declarations are collected and accurately recorded for submission to the Finance team.

Job Purpose:

Main Duties/Tasks

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and implement a Supporter Experience strategy, consulting with colleagues from across the charity to set clear long-term and short-term objectives, with KPI based engagement targets.
· Monitor and review team performance against these and provide regular reports to the Income Generation and Communications Director.
· Recruit and manage your team effectively to deliver excellent supporter engagement across all channels including telephone, email, postal and social media enquiries.

The Grants Manager will join ClientEarth’s Grants Management Team and play a leading role in securing grant renewals and managing income from trusts, foundations and other statutory and institutional funders.
Our Development Department is responsible for raising funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission. - Manage a portfolio of grants from key Trusts, Foundations and statutory funders. Ensure that funders are aware of project performance, and that ClientEarth’s implementation is always in compliance with grant agreements.
- Maximise existing funder relationships through effective grant management, excellent stewardship and ensuring lessons learned from ClientEarth’s work are fed back and incorporated into future strategy.
- Support the Global Head of Grants in setting up and implementing frameworks and processes to review performance against annual targets and objectives that ensure effective grants management, and to improve best practices around proposal and report submissions.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure the alignment of budget with project needs at proposal stage; ensure adequate budget monitoring to ensure prompt communications with funders on any project implementation issues.

- Significant experience of drafting complex proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions (including EU) and securing multi-year, six and seven-figure grants

About the role
This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s community fundraising and trade revenues (target of £266,000 in 2024) and building significant engagement with community supporters and fundraisers. You will manage a committed team of two people in the Community and Trade team.
You will be responsible for raising awareness of our community fundraising programme and developing a ‘best-in-class’ stewardship programme that builds new and develops existing relationships with supporters, volunteer groups, organisations and partners to maximise income and raise the charity’s profile. You will also lead on the development and delivery of our 50th anniversary celebrations in 2025.

Database and process management
• Work with the Head of Fundraising to ensure all recording, banking and stewardship processes are up to date and working across the fundraising team, wider charity (finance, data and marketing and communications) and in accordance with current laws and regulations.
• Record all community and trade income and thank community donors and supporters as per the agreed process.
• Record supporter and event/product specific information.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising to produce regular feedback reports and analysis on specific community products and overall revenue.
Wider fundraising
• Support company and corporate partnerships that utilise community and trade fundraising.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop merchandise and trade income opportunities.
• Manage merchandise supplier relationships and internal and external stock levels.
Working across the organisation
• Work with the Fundraising Team and wider organisation to develop an engaging and rewarding volunteering strategy across the charity.
• Manage the organisation’s close collaboration with the British Transplant Games.
• Work with the Marketing and Communications Team to identify key supporters to develop and nurture, including those who might join our major giving programme.

Coetir Anian (Cambrian Wildwood) manages a 142 hectare site near Machynlleth, restoring habitats and species to establish a flourishing, natural landscape and engaging a diverse range of people through education, well-being, and nature connection programmes.
Coetir Anian is seeking a new Fundraising Manager as the charity enters an exciting new phase in its nature restoration and people-land connection work. Much of the funding for the next financial year is in place and the focus is on financing the delivery of our new strategy, which will emphasise inclusive community engagement and storytelling alongside practical nature restoration. Experience with Heritage Lottery or similar applications would be an advantage.
The post holder will work with the Director and other staff to implement an income generation strategy which supports the work of Coetir Anian through unrestricted and restricted income streams.
This role would suit someone with experience of leading grant applications, especially in a small-medium sized charity. - Manage the development and operations of WaterAid Canada's individual giving portfolios, including annual, monthly, and leadership donors.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the annual and leadership giving stewardship.
- Plan and execute annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, digital acquisition, and third-party fundraisers.
- Development and implement strategies to enhance donor engagement, stewardship, and retention.

- Minimum three years of experience working in a fundraising, donor relations, or stewardship capacity, particularly in an annual giving portfolio.

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join our Relationship Fundraising Department for a 3 year fixed term contract. The role sits within an 11 person Corporate Fundraising team, which has an overall target of £3.5m.

· Represent Centrepoint and the partnership at our own and third party events.
· Actively participate in all team meetings and support other team members.
· Potentially manage other corporate partnership accounts as required.
· Work from partner office (an hour by train from London) at least twice a month.
