About the role
This is a new role for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity as we look to expand our successful Individual Giving & Lottery programmes.

The post holder will deliver quality fundraising campaigns, including Cash Appeals, Regular Giving and Lottery that will grow income, supporter base and lifetime value. Putting supporters at the heart of the Charity’s work, the role includes acquisition, retention and stewardship of individual donors and lottery players to achieve a sustainable increase in income for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

You’ll have strong commercial knowledge, with the ability to apply this to the Charity sector; adding value to our existing fundraising activities and impact reporting. 

As part of a busy and ambitious team, this role would suit a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a talent for storytelling and a knowledge of data-driven marketing. Working with the Digital Fundraising Manager and Marketing & PR Manager, they will be instrumental to the success of Individual Giving during an exciting period of growth for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

About us:

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much much more. 

It costs more than £5m each year to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 15% of our funding from government and the rest is sourced by our Income Generation team.  

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Income Generation team at Bluebell Wood and we are now on the lookout for an experienced fundraiser to join us and take on the responsibility of developing, implementing and delivering the hospice’s Individual Giving portfolio.  

This is an area with a potential for significant growth over the next 1-3 years and beyond, and we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable self-starter to steer the next chapter of our progress and development as our Individual Giving Fundraiser.

The successful candidate will oversee the delivery and administration of Bluebell Wood’s Individual Giving income streams (in memory, legacy and regular giving) and work with the Individual Giving Manager to plan and implement a strategy to increase income growth in this area.

Harris Hill has an opening for an experienced Individual Giving Manager to join a health related charity for 3 months, but potentially longer to cover recruitment period.

Following the completion of a 5 year plan, the organisation has decided to invest in Individual Giving as it has been noted there is lots of room for improvement, one of which is dividing the team into separate retention and acquisitions teams. The Individual Giving Officer will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships with individuals, to give their donations and their time, to make a difference to the people with dyslexia that we support.

You will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and upgrade individual donors, ensuring a steady and growing stream of funding and support for the charity.

We are a dynamic, growing charity who are committed to further increasing our reach and impact over the next 5 years. Our aim is to double the number of beneficiaries we support, and particularly to assist significantly more people who are from lower-income backgrounds. 

Main duties and responsibilities

· Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors to maximize financial support and our community of supporters.

· Plan and execute individual giving campaigns, across all available communication channels to engage donors effectively.

· Identify, organise and coordinate donor and community events, creating opportunities to engage, retain and celebrate supporters.

· Maintain accurate donor records, utilising data to inform decision-making and improve fundraising efforts.

· Prepare regular reports and analysis on individual giving performance.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive individual giving strategy.

· Ensure activities are delivered to budget and performance effectively tracked.

· Provide a monthly report to the Head of Fundraising

· Work closely with the Head of Fundraising, Trusts Fundraiser, PR & Communications Officer, Fundraising Administrator and CEO, and liaise with the rest of the charity’s team.

· Compliance: maintain accurate records in accordance with data protection and fundraising regulations.

· Strategy: play a part in assisting the Head of Fundraising and Chief Executive in developing the Fundraising Strategy, budget and targets in line with the charity’s Strategic Plan.

· Provide support with events and admin as needed, including attendance at functions outside of normal working hours.  

Ideal skills and experience:

· Experience in generating income from all or one or two of the following: individual, community and events fundraising. 

· Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write compelling stories and innovative content for fundraising campaigns.

· A strong understanding of the importance of knowing your supporter base to maximise income through effective donor communication and engagement.

· Strong data management and analysis skills

· Good knowledge of current data protection/GDPR regulation.

· Good working knowledge of CRM databases and how to utilise to steward supporters.

· Good level of administrative and organisational competency

· Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases (currently Donorfy and Act!)

·Previous experience working in a charity/non-profit

· Willingness to attend events and meetings etc, for which expenses will be paid.

Your Impact

As the Acquisition Manager, you'll play a vital role in optimising and expanding their supporter and member acquisition programme. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Development: Collaborate with the Head of Supporter Engagement to strategically grow the Acquisition programme, increasing supporter and member numbers.
• Multi-Channel Campaigns: Lead, manage, and deliver direct marketing recruitment campaigns across various channels, Face to Face, Digital, Telephone fundraising and Weekly Lottery.
• Budget Management: Plan, set up, and deliver campaigns on time and within budget, ensuring a strong return on investment.
• Digital Expansion: Utilise digital platforms for new donor/member acquisition, meeting targets for income and return on investment.

Your Experience

• Experience: Proven experience in direct marketing/fundraising channels and recruiting new supporters and/or members.
• Numeracy Skills: Highly numerate, capable of managing business plans, budgets, and interpreting campaign results.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
