You will need:
- Experience working within community fundraising or events, if you have experience managing fundraising appeals that would be ideal

Trust and Foundations is a relatively new source of income for this charity. Receiving most of their income from restricted sources, they have dipped their toes in the unrestricted pool and found it to be very warm indeed.
Unfortunately, they don't have the personnel resource, so would like someone to come in and work 1 or 2 days per week on a 6 month contract or a freelancer/ consultant who is willing to bill them directly.
You role will be to write and manage the trust and foundations proposals up to £10k, which are currently warm however, as this is new, you may also be able to bring valued expertise and guidance in finding new sources and direction.

We are recruiting for a fundraiser who is an expert at building strong relationships to join our team.
The Supporter-Led Fundraising team look after all supporters choosing to fundraise for Anthony Nolan through taking on Challenge Events, Community Fundraising and those taking part in our product offerings. We’re a friendly and close team, who work to give our supporters the best possible experience with Anthony Nolan. We work hard to develop our team and regularly help people progress in their careers within the team and wider organisation.
This role will lead on the high value stream of our fundraising. You will be responsible for setting and delivering the direction, targets and budget for the programme, working closely with both the Senior Events and Senior Community Fundraising managers (who are also responsible for a portion of the high value income delivery).
This role is critical for us to deliver our income targets (not just in the SLF team, but across Fundraising) working to open networks and opportunities from our highest value supporters.
The majority of our supporters have a close connection to blood cancer, stem cell transplants and the stem cell register, and a key part of the role is to manage a portfolio of our highest value community supporters, to develop long term relationships with them and their networks.
Our supporters are at the centre of everything we do and we’re looking for someone passionate about building strong relationships.

About the role
As the Director of Fundraising and Communications, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of London special events, challenge and community fundraising, trusts and foundations, legacies, individual giving, Patrons, PR, and web. You will work closely with the senior management team, staff teams across the UK, Crew (committee members), Trustees, and Volunteers to deliver Variety's mission "to fund and deliver life-changing programmes that give children and young people across the UK a better future."
The impact of the Covid pandemic on Variety's event income has highlighted the importance of growing even further our other income streams, and . They aim to double non-event fundraising income over the coming five years, create a sustainable fundraising programme for the long-term, and bring about a culture change that sees non-event fundraising income take an equally important role alongside their event fundraising income.
About You
As the Director of Fundraising and Communications, you will be pivotal in achieving that ambition. You will lead the fundraising team, excel at relationships fundraising, and have strong leadership and communication skills with multi-income stream experience and expertise. You will develop the charity's fundraising income, manage and grow the fundraising and communications team, and be a key member of the senior management team. It is important to highlight that this is a hands-on role because of the small team, and you will need to be prepared to be actively involved in all aspects of fundraising and communications.
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a senior fundraising role, experience of fundraising and management across a diverse range of income streams, particularly in the area of Corporate and Major Donor fundraising, and the ability to develop and implement strategic fundraising plans. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, the ability to build, develop and maintain key stakeholder, client, and donor relationships, and be highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously when required, as well as within a team.
