Trustee for International Foundation
Remuneration: Travel and other reasonable expenses reimbursed
Time Commitment: Trustee meeting are held every 2 months in Newbury, Berkshire; overall time commitment is expected to be 2 days per month, most of which can be undertaken working remotely
FutureSense Foundation in an International development charity that supports disadvantaged communities in developing countries to build a better future. The charity is looking for upto three new trustees to expand and strengthen its Board.
Based in Newbury Berkshire, the charity works across 6 countries, running programmes to enhance the quality of education and learning, health, and livelihoods of local communities. The new trustees will bring skills and experience in fundraising, digital marketing and/or international programmes and will play a pivotal role in guiding the charity, setting the strategic direction of the organisation, as well as supporting the management team as it enters the next phase of growth.
The charity has a growing presence of volunteers and fundraisers in the UK and Australia, to support established hubs in Cambodia, Thailand, Peru, India, Nepal, and Tanzania with local teams in each country. These local teams build strong connections within the community to enable the charity to understand the local development issues and challenges people face so the local team can work to the needs of the community. All programmes are delivered with local partners with the aim of helping achieve the UN Goals for Sustainable Development.
The charity is seeking Trustees who preferably have some experience of working in the charity sector and helping in overseas development projects or organisations. As a small but ambitious charity that seeks to reach out to more communities and beneficiaries over the next 5 years, the energy and drive the new Trustees can bring are as important to the organisation as are the specific skills and experience that the charity seeks in:
- Growing charity fundraising
- Expanding the charities digital footprint and online presence
- Strengthening the charities programmes
Trustee meeting are held every 2 months in Newbury, Berkshire. In addition, there is likely to be several specific projects that trustees would be expected to support or lead. Overall time commitment is expected to be 2 days per month, most of which can be undertaken working remotely.
