Job description

Job Summary

The role of the Carers Volunteer and Involvement Worker will be to develop an involvement offer within the Carers Salford Service, ensuring that carers are included within shaping the service offer and that co-production is used as a meaningful way of developing the service. The Carers Volunteer and Involvement Worker will also support volunteers throughout the service. The role will provide information, advice and support to individuals and groups of carers as well as professionals and other organisations.

Job Purpose

This role will complement the service offer by supervising volunteers and ensuring carers are treated as experts by experience, by establishing a service user led working group. The aim of the role is to recruit carers and offer them ongoing support, and ensure that the wider team understand the principles of co-production and it is embedded within their day to day work. The post holder will champion the principles of Community Led Support. Building better relationships and conversations based on trust, using local assets, coproducing outcomes, goals and support with the person, will have positive impacts on Salford peoples’ health and wellbeing, their outcomes and experience.
