Job description

Gaddum in partnership with Manchester Carers Forum, LMCP and Wai Yin Society have been successful in obtaining funding to deliver a first point of contact for Manchester carers.

Manchester Carers Contact Point (MCCP) will provide an initial point of contact for advice and support for Manchester Carers.

The service will be able to be accessed via a telephone helpline operating from 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday and through a dedicated website, e-mail address and social media. The service will be based at Gaddum House and be delivered by a dedicated staff team with added value offered by Volunteers and Student Social Workers.

We are now looking to recruit a Service Co-ordinator to help develop and then manage this new service. We believe the successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience of working within an advice and support service
  • Experience of managing staff
  • An ability to ensure the service meets clearly defined targets and outcomes
  • An understanding of the barriers that carers can face
  • A commitment to ensure that the service is delivered in partnership with Manchester Carers

This role would normally operate from Gaddum, 6 Great Jackson Street, Manchester M14 5AX. However, due to the social distancing measures introduced to combat the spread of COVID-19, working from home OR at an alternative location might be required at the contract start date. Additionally, interviews are likely to be held using Zoom video conferencing.

The closing date for receipt of application is 12 noon on Monday 27 May.
