Gambling Treatment Practitioner - Peterborough

Full-time at 35 hours
Salary: £25,375- £28,420 - dependant on experience

GamCare is the leading UK provider of information, advice, support and treatment for anyone concerned about their own or someone else’s gambling. Our expert services are confidential and non-judgemental.

GamCare is now looking to recruit a Treatment Practitioner to work within our Gambling Related Harm Treatment Service, East Midlands and due to ongoing Covid restrictions will be based at home predominantly offering remote client work.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing face to face, telephone and virtual assessment, brief or structured interventions and group work to help clients identify their needs and to progress through to Aftercare
  • Ensuring safeguarding issues are managed effectively
  • Working in partnership with other local services
  • Offering non-judgmental, focused sessions to clients according to their needs and working with a Relapse Prevention model

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) tools. Group work skills would be advantageous as well as effective assessment experience.

You will form part of an enthusiastic team working from several locations across the East Midlands.

We are looking for individuals to work full time which will include some evenings and possible Saturdays.
