INDUSTRY SERVICES TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Full-time at 35 hours,

Remote, UK

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 Dependent on experience

GamCare is the UK’s leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling-related harms.

GamCare has enjoyed significant growth during the last two years and an excellent opportunity has now arisen for a dynamic training and development officer – passionate about preventing gambling harm and ensuring customer safety – to join our team.

With experience delivering training to a range of audiences, you will have an interest in the gambling industry and a commitment to making it safer. You will be an excellent oral and written communicator, able to express complex language in simple terms. You will be committed to protecting those at risk of developing a gambling problem.

You will also support the team in marketing, consolidating and developing GamCare’s existing suite of services for industry stakeholders. This includes our warm transfer service, e-learning and ‘Responsible Gambling Lab’ focus groups with individuals with lived experience of gambling harms. You will undertake business development work and source content for our recently launched consumer and industry facing website:

In particular, the job holder will be required to:

  • Develop and deliver training about safer gambling to a range of stakeholders including the gambling industry.
  • Administer e-learning courses via GamCare’s learning management system (LMS). This includes enrolling users on courses, updating course content and pulling reports from the system.
  • Support colleagues to deliver GamCare’s warm transfer service. This includes preparing quarterly reports for businesses on the number of successfully completed transfers and regularly monitoring data to ensure appropriate transfers are made.
  • Manage pipeline of business, track and follow up on business development leads and proactively market our industry services, ensuring we meet team targets.

In 2019 the Industry Services Team increased its training output by 62% and we are motivated to exceed this over the coming years. This is an exciting time to join the team as we look to boost our online offering and launch new e-learning courses to support delivery of our face-to-face services.

Support and training will be provided by the team, so we are open to considering candidates with more limited work experience if they can demonstrate the capacity, passion and initiative required for the role. Candidates with more limited experience may wish to draw on any transferable knowledge, skills or experience that they have developed which evidence how they meet the job description.

Location of the role

This is role is based remotely; there will be a combination of working from home, extensive travelling (within the UK and outside) and working in the London Head Office a couple of times a week (dependent upon training delivery schedule). You will be required to travel to the London office for training and meetings.

During the Coronavirus period you will be required to undertake duties from home. You will need to ensure that you have a confidential space within your home to work from, a home working risk assessment will be carried out by your line manager and you will be kept updated on the ongoing situation.

We are currently delivering training remotely though plan to resume face-to-face training soon, subject to the relevant risk assessments being carried out.
