Support Worker: London Treatment Team

Full-time at 35 hours per week

London Office based (temporary home working due to COVID-19)

GamCare is the UK’s leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling-related harms.

GamCare operates the National Gambling HelpLine, providing information, advice and support for anyone affected by problem gambling. Advisers are available 24 hours a day on Freephone 0808 8020 133 or via web chat. We also offer a range of free treatment across England, Scotland and Wales, as well as a moderated Forum and daily chatrooms so that people can speak to others experiencing similar issues and seek support.

It’s an exciting time to join GamCare, as we continue to grow and provide impactful support to more and more people harmed by gambling each year.

We are now hiring a Support Worker to work closely and collaboratively with our Treatment Team, delivering treatment interventions face to face, online and over the phone.

As part of this role you will work directly with our service users, primarily working with those identified as requiring low-intensity interventions. This includes providing 1-2-1 interventions, conducting triage assessments and working with other support agencies to provide a wrap-around support to our service users.

This role will also provide administrative support, such as data entry to the Treatment Team, as well as assisting with raising GamCare’s profile within the local communities.

If you have previous experience in the addictions field or working with vulnerable people and wish to help those struggling with problem gambling, GamCare maybe the organisation for you.

The post will be full time and based in the London office. During the coronavirus period, temporary home working will be taking place. You will need to ensure that you have a confidential space within your home to work from, a home working risk assessment will be carried out by your line manager.
