Women’s Programme Outreach Officers
London, East Midlands, Scotland and Nationwide

Full time position, fixed term contracts until 31st March 2021
Salary: £25-28K per annum pro rata
There is a perception that problem gambling is only a ‘male issue’. This is not true – ‘gambling related harm’ affects women too, and the impact can be particularly severe for some of the most vulnerable women in our society. Despite this, women do not come forward for treatment and there are few organisations that specialise in supporting women that have robust pathways into gambling related treatment.
GamCare has received funding from the Tampon Tax Fund specifically to help change this and is setting up the UK’s first ever programme designed specifically to address the issue of women and gambling. We will build a nationwide network of local public sector and third sector organisations that work with women and enhance their knowledge about gambling related harm and where help is available and give them skills to support their service users impacted by gambling related harm.
We are excited to recruit an Outreach Officer for the East Midlands and an additional Outreach Officer from any region in England (North East/North West/Yorkshire and Humber/West Midlands/East Midlands/East England/South East/South West/London). You will join our new team and collaborate effectively with and be well supported by an enthusiastic and friendly national team. Outreach Officers will create excellent local links and embed themselves within the regional community to ensure there is national coverage for this flagship programme. All roles are full time.
Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to build successful relationships with partner organisations, deliver training, coordinate and facilitate networking opportunities and be a passionate advocate for both the programme and the treatment support services delivered by the wider GamCare partner network. The work will not always be easy, as we will be working with partner organisations that have competing priorities and a constant demand on their time. Passion, enthusiasm and commitment will help to you to make sure that this important issue is given the attention it deserves.
Successful candidates will be confident, self-motivated communicators, have good attention to detail and enjoy persuading and influencing. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, you will champion the work.

The role is a fixed term post, full time until end March 2021. We are open to discussion about where the roles will work from in each region; some may be based in GamCare’s partner organisations, some home based.
