Job description

Here at GCHQ, we have a clear purpose - we want to help protect the UK. We work against cyber-attacks, terrorism and espionage. So everyone who works here, works towards that goal. But we always do it together, supporting each other every step of the way. We’re proud to collaborate, and even prouder to work with purpose.

Our Project Management Office (PMO) is at the heart of everything we do. So, as a Project Control Officer, you’ll deliver unique projects and work closely with a huge range of teams. It means you’ll collate data and report back to the project teams. A naturally organised person, you’ll make sure we’re always working to agreed project tools like finance, planning, risks and issues. Plus, with relevant training, you’ll provide useful guidance on PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies. You’ll bring all of this together to support lifecycle meetings and coordinate key projects. It’s all about supporting us to keep the UK safe.

We manage really unique and interesting projects, so we don’t expect you to know everything from day one. So we’ll give you lots of tailored training, coaching and mentoring - developing you both professionally and personally. We just need you to come to us with some experience in a PMO and the ability to draft reports. As a real people person, you’ll thrive in our multi-team environment and persuade people at all levels. And a natural problem-solver, you’ll identify issues and adapt quickly to change. Plus, you’ll pay excellent attention to detail.

Apply now, and enjoy an incredibly flexible working pattern, supportive environment and plenty of development opportunities. Plus, you’ll manage projects that protect the country.
