Job Description

Half a million girls, young women and adults are involved in Girlguiding across the UK. We give girls the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good.  Members, volunteers and parents often have questions and sometimes need to give feedback or make complaints.

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to help us establish and embed a set of policies and guidance that support our volunteers.  Working closely with the Complaints and Compliance Manager and volunteers across the charity, you will help us to ensure safer recruitment through vetting and risk assessment as well as access to good quality advice and guidance for local commissioners as they manage their volunteers. As first point of call for queries about membership policies you will provide excellent customer service to our volunteers and other stakeholders, using your knowledge and skill to help address complex scenarios and ensuring that the learning feeds into policies and guidance which are fit for purpose.

You will have experience of producing policy and procedures in youth or children’s services ideally in the voluntary sector.  You will be able to work confidentially and handle challenging conversations with confidence and sensitivity. You will be computer literate in MS Office, an excellent communicator, and committed to supporting Girlguiding to be an inclusive and caring charity.
