Do you want to be part of an exciting national team creating amazing opportunities for girls and young women? Could you help our charity inspire more people to volunteer and make a positive difference in Croydon and Surrey East? Could you help us build relationships with a range of community stakeholders that will help strengthen, grow and diversify our charity?
Girlguiding offers amazing opportunities for all girls and young women to discover their potential. Our volunteers are vital in inspiring and supporting girls to become the young women they want to be.
We have an exciting opportunity within our Growth and Insight team to grow our volunteer and girl membership, by opening more guiding groups and widening our community relationships so that even more girls can have fun, make friends, enjoy new adventures and grow in confidence.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience recruiting and working with volunteers or with people in unpaid roles in the community. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of community outreach/engagement, as well as experience of planning and facilitating meetings, organising events and managing small projects. You will be a relationship builder and networker. You will be able to show an understanding of the motivation of volunteers and the challenges/opportunities involved in recruiting, training and retaining volunteers, particularly amongst under-represented communities.
The role requires flexibility and multi-tasking, as well as the confidence to work independently on the ground in Croydon and Surrey East, and as part of a fun and creative national staff/volunteer team. You will live within close proximity of Croydon and Surrey East and have thorough knowledge of both areas and their diverse communities. Regular evening and weekend working is required for which time-off-in-lieu can be taken.
