Glass Door is committed to supporting people get—and stay—off the street. We do this by coordinating London’s largest emergency winter shelter network and by providing a year-round advice service to help people move beyond homelessness. Since 1999, thousands of people have found safe shelter and the support needed to leave homelessness behind, thanks to the dedication of thousands of volunteers and partnerships formed with churches and drop-in centres. Our night shelters save lives and our support services help change lives.

 The role

We are looking for an exceptional individual with an open, collaborative style and a practical, can-do approach to join our Finance & Resources Team.

In this dual and varied role, working across the full range of finance and human resources functions, you will interact with  both our front-line and office staff to provide a range of finance and HR support across Glass Door. You will also provide support to the Head of Finance & Resources and HR Manager, and have some responsibility for a various range of administrative processes focusing on recruitment and onboarding as well as financial processing and systems, and assisting with the preparation of various HR documents and financial accounts.

About you

A team player and confident self- starter, you will have strong organisational, administrative and communication skills, and experience of working in a similar role or within a finance or HR team. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy will be traits that you will possess, coupled with the understanding of the importance of discretion and confidentiality.

 You will have an approachable and confident manner with the ability to relate to and work with people from a range of backgrounds, and at all levels with in a professional manner.

 In addition, you will be confident working with various software. Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.

 Some experience of working within the not-for-profit sector and experience of working with homeless people or similar disadvantaged client groups and an understanding of their needs is desirable.
