Job description

 

Role: Corporate & Events Fundraising Officer

Salary: £21,500 to £25,000

Responsible to: Fundraising Manager 

Responsible for: N/A

 

The main duties of the Fundraising Officer will include:

Corporate and Events responsibilities:

  • Manage and steward a pipeline of corporate support using a monthly review and evaluation system
  • Research opportunities for new corporate partnerships across four main streams: Charity of the year, sponsorship, commercial and Corporate Social Responsibility funding (CSR)
  • Work with the Fundraising manager to develop and launch a portfolio of corporate products, events and campaigns to encourage increased support and activity
  • Support corporate partners through written, telephone and face-to-face communications.  Track their charitable support and report on the impact to our work
  • Arrange volunteering opportunities for corporate partners when required
  • Develop, plan and deliver key events for our corporate partners and major donors to attend
  • Build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external contacts, to help us grow our offering and proactively identify opportunities for growth and development
  • Research products provided by other charities, develop insight to improve our offering, carry out supporter testing and gather ongoing feedback

Third Party Running and Challenge:

  • Manage our third-party challenge events portfolio. Working on all elements of the event cycle, from marketing and recruitment, through to stewarding participants.
  • Research and identify new opportunities to add to the existing portfolio of third party running and challenges.
  • To update the website with new opportunities.
  • Manage communication for supporters, including good luck and congratulations communications and ensure all activity is recorded accurately.
  • To support with generating and creating content for social media, identifying stories from supporters to share as well as content on our website and newsletters.
  • Ensure that all active online fundraising pages are regularly checked, with progress and income recorded accurately. Provide administrative support for fundraising activities, including sending out packs and materials to participants and the support of all online virtual events.

Other:

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the Fundraising and Communications operations to ensure efficiency and sustainability including general administration, processing referrals, answering telephones / emails and supervising volunteers.
  • Develop new ideas for Fundraising initiatives with the team and contribute to the Fundraising Strategy.

It is essential for the candidate to demonstrate the following:

  • A* – C GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, supportive, and compassionate attitude
  • Experience in an events, fundraising and/or corporate development role
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A resilient, creative fundraiser who is used to working on their own initiative and managing multiple projects
  • Experience of working with a donor database, preferably The Raiser’s Edge, although full training will be provided
  • Experience of delivering against income generation targets set by management
  • Highly motivated, positive and has a commitment to provide a high-quality service
  • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise tasks to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders

It would also be advantageous if you have previous experience of working within the voluntary sector.

The Fundraising Officer role is full time, but part time or job share would be considered for the right candidate(s).
