About the role:
GoodGym is looking for a Business Operations Manager: a meticulous, detail-oriented completer/finisher who will help ensure the smooth running of GoodGym as an organisation. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in the organisation's effectiveness and impact. This is pivotal role that will provide financial and operations expertise to support the organisation's continued growth.

Team: Business operations
Hours: 4-5 days (37.5 hours for 5 days) per week with flexible arrangements considered
Location: London based or flexible/remote working with some travel to London
Reporting to: CEO

As Business Operations Manager, you will be the metronome of the organisation. You will:

  • work closely with the CEO on financial and accounting procedures;

  • take responsibility for the implementation of our recruitment, HR and pay policies;

  • work with the CTOO on improving and ensuring adherence to our information governance policies and procedures; and

  • support the logistics of our staff team, enabling a high-performing, engaged and satisfied staff team.

Key responsibilities:

Human resources:
You will be responsible for the smooth running of our human resources including recruitment, induction, paye and policies relating to staff. You’ll manage smooth running processes that help employees flourish.

Governance, performance and reporting
You’ll support our governance cycle with our board, produce reports and ensure our policies including information governance are in place and adhered to.

Financial operations
You’ll take a lead role in the organisation for finance.  You’ll prepare budgets, manage  payments and relationships with suppliers. 

Team operations

You’ll ensure the smooth running of the team supporting staff development, internal processes and ensuring staff have what they need to work effectively.

 

Policy compliance and policy development

You’ll be responsible for the process of updating and signing off our policies and you’ll be responsible for disseminating them and any changes and ensuring compliance.


 

Person specification


Experience of financial and operational processes:

  • High level of skills with spreadsheets, accounting packages and using shared documents

  • Ability to build and form good relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues

  • Ability to take an organisational lead role in Human Resources

  • Ability to take an organisational lead role in HR and Operational policies & procedures and the implementation of these across GoodGym

  • Confident with numbers, accounting and reporting
     

Organisational and communication skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Second-to-none organisation and time management skills

  • Discretion when dealing with confidential matters

  • Diligent and consistent when it comes to managing projects
