Temple Church is located in the Temple, City of London. The Church serves the legal colleges (Inns of Court) of Inner and Middle Temple, and serves members of the Inns and their families, London’s residents, visiting jurists and travellers from all over the world through the provision of some of the most uplifting services, music and discussions in London. Inner and Middle Temple have established a new registered charity, Temple Church Trust (Reg no 1205712), to maintain the Church, support its choristers and professional musical team, and develop its charitable activities. In advance of the Trust becoming operational in the summer, the Temple Church Committee wishes to appoint the first Chief Executive Officer of the Trust.
The role:
The CEO will be expected to lead and coordinate an established team of full-time and part-time staff; manage the Church’s multifaceted stakeholder network; ensure close control and management of the Church’s resources; and represent the Church and its work to the two Inns and externally so that the Church can function effectively and plan confidently for the future. The CEO will also be responsible for the Church's sensitive commercial development through the Trust’s wholly-owned commercial subsidiary company.
What we need:
You will be an excellent leader with effective interpersonal skills. Your recent experience will be at the director level or equivalent in the third sector, public sector, military or commerce. You will have a proven track record of leading or significantly contributing to the leadership of an organisation similar in size and complexity to the Temple Church. Proven experience in managing and delivering projects and income generation is essential. You should demonstrate a commitment to learning and development and sympathy for the mission and values of the Church of England.
What we offer:

We’re looking for a new Community Rail Support Officer based in southern England and the Midlands, to support our network of community rail partnerships (CRPs) and station adoption groups.
About us
Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain, supporting a growing ‘community rail’ movement, which helps communities get the most from their railways, promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making, and brings people together.
Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, and around 1,200 station friends volunteer groups and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects for young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and disabled people, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail.
Our enthusiastic team of 22 works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. About this role
The purpose of this role is to provide support and advice to community rail partnerships and groups in the South of England and Midlands, on working effectively and delivering maximum benefit to their communities and railways.
You’ll be comfortable engaging and advising local groups and communities to extend existing and set up new initiatives, and to reach wider audiences with an evidence-led, place-based approach. As well as supporting local groups, you’ll work closely with the rail industry, and wider third and public sector partners to ensure collaboration and shared success.
Main responsibilities
- Provide direct support and advice to CRPs and their officers, and other community rail groups in the region. This includes responding to queries and requests, passing on specialist queries to other members of the team, and providing proactive support through our accreditation review process and as set out in our plans;
- Support the development of skills, confidence and effectiveness across the network of CRPs and station groups, helping them to increase their positive social, environmental and economic impact, including through referral to our training, events and resources;
- Support the development of emerging community rail partnerships, station friend groups and community-led stations and railway-related projects in the region;
- Helping our members to work effectively with rail, transport, local government and community partners, supporting effective relationship building and showing positive leadership and insights on community rail within the region;
- Work with the Support Manager on delivery and monitoring of our grant schemes, and support CRPs and groups in the region to apply, deliver successfully and report back on funded work;
- Gather and share examples, feedback and insights from our members across the region, to facilitate best practice sharing and confidence across community rail and to feed into our communications, resources, events and public affairs work;
- As a member of the Community Rail Network team, participate and contribute to our wider work as relevant, such as Community Rail Week, our annual conference and Awards.
Skills, competencies and experience
- Skills in in supporting community engagement projects; an understanding of and confidence in using community engagement, local communications, project planning and evaluation techniques
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate positive discussion; articulate and assertive
- Excellent writing and presentational skills
- Awareness of sustainable transport and social inclusion, and an appreciation of the importance of rail, sustainable travel and mobility to communities

Other information
- This post is home-based, but with regular travel (including overnight stays) within the south of England and Midlands, and nationally for team meetings
- The Community Rail Support Officer reports to the Support Manager within the Support and Development team
- Hours are 37 hours per week. A degree of flexibility and out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends) will be required, together with some travel and overnight absences

Job purpose
This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial sustainability and integrity of LGT, developing resilient foundations for our front-line services, community development, policy and campaigns work to grow in scale and impact.
Working closely with the CEO, Project and Team Leads, you’ll lead all aspects of financial management from budgeting, accounting and compliance, financial management of grants, to reporting to the Finance Committee to support the Board of Trustees and leadership with financial planning and decision making. Finance is the core of the role, however you’ll also use your data management and organisation skills to help us maintain and develop our workflow and data management systems and processes, and oversee other core operational functions delivered by our Business Operations Administrator.
We are a small, collaborative and committed team, with ambitious plans to grow the impact of our work and to diversify and grow our income in the coming years. We are looking for a friendly, organised individual to join our small team as the Operations Officer. You will help underpin the work of Music as Therapy International, a charity which inspires, guides and champions the use of music to strengthen care around the world.
Working closely with the charity’s existing team, responsibilities will include:Project Administration, External comms, Financial Administration, Fundraising, Governance, and Team Administration.
Our Operations Officer will need to be a positive and pro-active team player, who is systematic in their approach to administration, and gives strong attention to detail. We’re looking for an excellent communicator (in written and spoken English) given the part they will play in our use of External Comms. They will have charitable mindset and a real interest in the impact of our work. Strong numeracy skills are also integral to this role.
It is a broad role with plenty of opportunities for agency, and scope to progress and specialise with experience. It would suit someone keen to immerse themselves in all aspects of working with a small charity, whether at the start of their career or following experience acquired in other sectors.

Job Description
Reporting to the CEO, the job holder will work closely with the CEO, the executive team and the board on a variety of tasks to help TOTSCo achieve maturity in its governance, decision making and strategy and more generally as an organisation. Tasks include:
- Forward-planning board agendas in the light of strategic and operational priorities
- Preparing papers for board consideration under direction, including appropriate analysis and recommendations

- Preparing periodic board off-site strategy meetings

The Commonwealth Foundation is committed to bringing Commonwealth civil society and its citizens into the centre of discussion and decision-making around critical issues that affect their lives. As Governance Officer in the Office of the Directorate, you will serve as a main point of contact between the Foundation and its external partners, including High Commissioners and other stakeholders. This position demands frequent and meaningful interaction with the Director-General, ensuring governance activities align closely with the Foundation’s strategic goals.

The programme
The Office of the Directorate is headed by the Director-General of the Foundation, Dr Anne T. Gallagher AO. In addition to providing overall leadership, it brings together core functions related to governance, finance and people management.
The role
The Governance Officer liaises with external partners and supports the Director-General to ensure governance activities align with the Foundation’s strategic goals. Working under the direction of the Senior Office Manager (People and Finance), you will bring strong administrative and diplomatic skills.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Manage communications and correspondence with Governors, High Commissions, and external stakeholders.
- Keep detailed electronic records of Directorate activities, decisions, and communications.
- Provide administrative support to the Directorate, including diary management and event coordination.
- Offer advice on diplomacy and protocol.
- Organise travel and manage logistics for Directorate engagements.
- Lead the planning and execution of Board and Committee meetings, handle related scheduling, correspondence, and logistics.
- Prepare and distribute documents for Board meetings, assisting with minute taking where required.
- Serve as the contact point for the Foundation’s Civil Society Governors.
- Assist with the reconciliation of expenses, preparation of financial reminders, and support finance-related tasks.
- Contribute to HR, office management, and other Directorate responsibilities as needed.
- Foundation-wide Support: Handle external communications, participate in Foundation-wide initiatives, and contribute to strategic planning and process improvement.
The individual
We seek an individual with strong administrative experience, preferably in an intergovernmental or diplomatic context. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to build relationships across the organisation and a commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive work environment.
The ideal candidate will be discreet, practical, and solution-oriented; exhibiting a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, reliability, independence, and the flexibility to adapt to new challenges and learn new skills.
What we offer
Salary expectation: £31,000 – £33,000

Fifteen percent of your salary is payable tax-free at stipulated periods in lieu of a formal superannuation scheme.

We are based in Marlborough House, Pall Mall, central London. We are currently operating a flexible working policy which requires all staff to work from the office at least five days per fortnight including every Wednesday, and applicants must be able to affirm their capacity and willingness to work within this policy.

The Governance Officer Role:
As our Governance Officer, you will play a key role in the management of the Board’s committees and the production of the documentation required to facilitate each meeting.
Key responsibilities as our Governance Officer:
- Supporting the Company Secretary and Governance Manager with effective management of the Committees serviced by the Governance Team. This includes being aware of agenda items prior to each meeting to mitigate any potential issues that may arise
- Taking the minutes of agreed Committee and Board meetings and producing a set of minutes for approval within the agreed time period
- Sharing meeting details with Committee members in a timely manner
- Following up on agreed Board/Committee actions in collaboration with the Company Secretary, Governance Manager and Governance Officer, ensuring actions that may interlink between committees are understood and developed accordingly
- Responsible for the annual trustee appraisal schedule, ensuring all trustees have an effective meeting with the Chair of the Board
What we are looking for in our Governance Officer:
- Highly competent with MS Office (Word, Excel, databases and Outlook) and Adobe
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent experience
- GCSE A*-C grade (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language
- An understanding and interest in the work of the organisation and its strategic objectives
- An understanding of how an organisation’s Board and Committees shape decision making with an awareness of risk and interdependencies between committees
- Proven competence in this type of role
- Experience working with trustees and volunteers

About the Foundation:
The Avicenna Foundation was set up in 2023 to to support outstanding young British Muslims by providing them with scholarships for their undergraduate degree. The scholarships are mainly focused on awarding scholarships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for those interested in politics, policy-making and becoming agents of positive change.
Alongside the scholarship, the Avicenna Foundation runs a development programme for the scholars to expand their skills and abilities in various areas like leadership, communication and collaboration.
The Foundation has developed immensely in the first year with the launch of the charity; onboarding of it’s first cohort of 30 scholars and the development of a leadership programme. It now needs propelling into the next stage as the charity develops to ensure a robust charity structure and programme in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, and manage changes required within programmes and activities as a result of changing external landscapes or contexts.
- Implement strategies for advertising the scholarships, receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and making final selection decisions. Some of these things are already in place and may need reviewing and enhancing.
- Work with the Scholar Development Coordinator to oversee the leadership development programme, provide guidance and help the programme to grow.
- Maintain regular communication with the scholars, their progress, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Ensure programme objectives and outcomes align with the overall strategy and aims of the Foundation, and are realistic and achievable within timeframes and budgets.
- Organise any events, programmes necessary to the scholars.
- Use data to track progress and drive improvement; proactively manage risks; and ensure effective use of the Foundation’s resources and budgets allocated to you.
Governance:
- Provide leadership and guidance to achieve consistency of governance across all of the Foundation’s activities, from development, delivery, measurement and evaluation and reporting perspectives.
- Regular communication and updates to the board, prepare board papers and contribute to Trustee meetings as required.
- Create, maintain and ensure continued adoption of governance frameworks, policies and templates.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of risk registers for the charity and across all programmes.
- Manage finances, budgeting, reporting, and record-keeping
- Prepare the Foundation’s annual report.
External Engagement
- Lead on strategic communications by developing and implementing an integrated public affairs and communication plan that are consistent with the goals and values of the Foundation.
- Building and cultivating exceptional diverse reciprocal partnerships across a wide range of stakeholder groups, grounded in delivering impact through collaboration.
- Work with educational partners to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the scholarship programme
- Leverage messaging and networks to positively impact the growth and reputation of the Foundation.
- Strengthen our brand reputation to maximise our impact and reach.
- Help identify, create and develop meaningful opportunities for the young people the Foundation works with.
- Establish an alumni network and support continuous professional development for alumni.
- Produce briefings and critical information for internal and external stakeholders, and review reports, submissions, and letters where appropriate.

This post is based in our Central London office; however, ARB supports a flexible approach to hybrid working in the office and remotely.
An ideal candidate would be looking to build and develop their existing administrative skills. The main role responsibilities are:
- Providing administrative support and information gathering processes associated with the development and monitoring of ARB’s international agreements.
