We are seeking to appoint two experienced Safeguarding Officers on a permanent contract; altogether 1.3 full-time equivalent between the two posts, with hours being negotiable with successful candidates.The post holders will have a relevant professional qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of direct safeguarding practice with vulnerable adults or children or both. The successful applicants will be expected to provide effective leadership across the District to promote a culture of safeguarding, whilst supporting survivors of abuse.Working with partners from the Church’s Learning Network, the post holders will be expected to contribute to the planning and delivery of the District’s safeguarding training programme.
The post holders will be expected to be in sympathy with the aims of the Methodist Church.
Location: Home-based, own transport is essential as travel will be required region-wide.We need one member of staff to cover Cumbria and North Lancashire.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00. Also to include some evenings and occasional weekends.
Salary: £40,000 to £42,000 pro rata, dependent on experience.
Holidays: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays

Waterways Ombudsman
Working part-time and in a location of your choosing, you will take responsibility for all aspects of the ombudsman scheme. This includes handling complaints from initial enquiry through to resolution, as well as managing relationships with, the Committee, and the Canal & River Trust and other navigation authorities, waterway organisations and the media. You will also be responsible for administrative elements of the scheme, such as managing the website and preparing the annual report. The job involves working flexibly around four to five days over a month at a rate of £600 per day, which is paid through the independent Waterways Ombudsman Committee.
We’re looking for someone with a solid understanding of how public or private sector ombudsman schemes work. If you haven’t gained direct experience within one already, then you will certainly have worked at a senior level within a legal environment, dispute resolution system or similar. Sound judgment and integrity are important, as are strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiating skills. You must also be able to work alone and in a highly autonomous way.

Overview
The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our volunteers, partners and donors to build and nurture strong working relationships.

Housing Justice is a Christian charity working to alleviate homelessness in all its forms. We are a friendly and flexible organisation looking for a compassionate leader for our team in Wales. As a bi-national charity we work in partnership with the housing and homelessness sector, refugee and asylum sector, churches, community groups, UK Government, Welsh Government and local government to help provide those experiencing homelessness with a safe and stable home.

About the role
The role of the Director for Wales is to lead the team and the development of the work of Housing Justice throughout Wales. The skills needed for the role include effective partnership working, business planning, project management and service delivery across multiple functions, as well as financial management skills including budgeting and delivery of cost and income targets.

Home based or London

Salary: This is a voluntary role. Committee members receive no remuneration. Reasonable expenses can be claimed in line with NCVO’s expenses policy.

This means our Finance focus covers both charity and commercial, across different jurisdictions, and with culturally diverse teams. This makes the Head of Global Finance role a diverse one, that requires the ability to switch quickly, to build strong relationships, to lead and guide, whilst maintaining spotless financial records and financial compliance and providing senior management with the information and transparency it needs to make strategic decisions.
