Fundraising & Communications Manager, home-based & Guildford based: £28,000 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience, full time (35 hours per week). Permanent.
We are looking for a self-starting and driven individual with a proven track record in fundraising to lead our small charity at this exciting time of growth. As the successful candidate you will draw on your knowledge and expertise of the charity sector to develop strategies and systems with our hands-on Trustee board and part-time Community Fundraiser and affect both rapid development of the charity’s structure and increased profile and income over the coming year. You will also be an excellent communicator (written and verbal) and will be able to enthuse and inspire others about our charity’s important mission, be that face-to-face or through press releases, funding applications or social media posts. You will be required to manage your own time, continue record-keeping and ensure compliance to the highest standard with regards to data protection and fundraising regulations etc. Healthcare knowledge or care experience (in particular cancer/gynaecology) would be beneficial though a willingness to learn is more important.
We are looking for a passionate individual who will grab this opportunity to affect real change and hit the ground running in this interesting and varied role. In return you will be remunerated generously, be able to work flexibly from home and our offices, liaising directly with some of the leading gynaeoncology specialists in the country, have the opportunity to make strategic decisions and progress rapidly to an increasingly senior role, and know that your time and efforts will make a huge tangible impact from the outset.
In the UK 21,000 women a year are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer. That’s 58 women each day, and of these 21 will die. These cancers make up some of the most common and most fatal diseases that women face, but despite this, gynaecological cancer is neither high profile, nor well funded.
GRACE is a small charity here in Guildford, doing incredible things to improve women's treatment and recovery, keeping local Surrey/Hampshire/Sussex women’s cancer treatment near home and easier to access at a time where their health is already impaired. GRACE also has a mission to raise awareness of these cancers and their symptoms (or lack thereof) to better equip and encourage women to seek early intervention.
When we lose women, families are destroyed. At GRACE we believe our cause should matter to everyone, because our mothers, grandmothers. wives, sisters, nieces and daughters deserve the best outcomes should they ever face the frightening diagnosis of a gynaecological cancer.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
