This is a senior support post of essential importance to allow the Dean, Chief Operating Officer, Chapter and committees to develop and maintain an effective system of governance for the Cathedral with adherence to the highest standards of good governance practice. This will include relevant regulatory and legislative requirements such as supporting the Chief Operating Officer with returns, reports and filings for statutory bodies including the Charity Commission, Information Commissioner’s Office, HSE, the Parish and Companies House. The post holder will provide comprehensive and effective administrative support for Chapter and its statutory committees such as Finance Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee. The post holder will work across Cathedral teams to ensure robust compliance and risk management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the Whistleblowing Officer and assist in the working of the Whistleblowing Policy;
• Maintain the declarations of interest and gift registry records;
• Assist the COO in keeping a log of complaints under the Complaints Policy 
• Lead the co-ordination, preparation, planning and follow-up for meetings and other committee work associated with the governance of the Cathedral including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and Nominations Committee;
• Arrange and manage the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) and parish clerking duties;
• Assist the COO with returns, reports and filings for statutory bodies, the Cathedral's insurers, Association of English Cathedrals etc; 
• Assist the Dean and COO in their governance responsibilities under the Care of Cathedrals Measure 2021;
• Support the COO in the coordination of risk management and Health and Safety Compliance across the organisation; 
• Support data protection compliance across the organisation, working with the Cathedral’s GDPR consultants
• Secretariat support for the Health, Safety and Security Committee meetings
• Develop, monitor and review Cathedral policies and systems to ensure compliance and best practice
• Work with the Cathedral HR team to devise and monitor a regular training schedule to ensure best practice and compliance
• The post-holder will assist the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer where needed with administration, DBS checks and training requirements and records.

About Working Well Trust

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are recruiting a Communications Lead to join Working Well Trust. This is a 35-hour per week role, Monday to Friday, based at our Bethnal Green office with travel to other offices and boroughs when required. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of three days on site per week. Occasional evening work may be required.

This role will lead and deliver Working Well Trust’s communications activity across digital, print and internal channels, ensuring that our content is engaging, accessible, timely and aligned with organisational aims, service requirements and brand standards. The postholder will also support contract mobilisation, stakeholder engagement and effective internal communication across the organisation.

We are looking for someone with strong communications, digital content, copywriting and design skills, who can bring creativity, structure and initiative to a growing mental health and employment charity. You will work closely with the CEO, Operations Director, HR Advisor, service teams, clients and external stakeholders to ensure our communications reflect our values, services and impact.

Experience of working in the voluntary sector, mental health, employment support, disability or neurodiversity would be beneficial, but above all, we are looking for someone who is committed to Working Well Trust’s aims and able to communicate our work clearly, sensitively and creatively.

What you’ll be doing

• You will plan, write and schedule engaging content across Working Well Trust’s social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, ensuring posts are timely, accessible and aligned with our organisational aims and, where appropriate, the funding requirements of individual services.
• You will update and maintain the Working Well Trust website using WordPress, ensuring content is accurate, current and accessible. You will also liaise with our website developer to resolve faults and support structural changes when required.
• You will create marketing and promotional materials in line with Working Well Trust brand guidelines, including leaflets, flyers, posters, banners, presentations, infographics and impact statements. You will work with teams and clients to develop content that promotes our services, supports referrals and reflects the communities we work with.
• You will lead on co-production activities and events where appropriate, supporting clients and teams to contribute meaningfully to communications and promotional materials.
• You will support staff with case studies and service stories, providing guidance on content, editing and refining material so that it is suitable for Working Well Trust communications.
• You will create a monthly internal newsletter for staff and support the development of an external newsletter, with the purpose and target audience to be agreed.
• You will maintain communications schedules and distribution lists to support targeted communication with staff, clients, employers, funders, referral partners and other stakeholders.
• You will work alongside the CEO and Operations Director to draft and implement communications plans to support the mobilisation of new services, including liaising with contract leads and funders where appropriate.
• You will also support events, internal meetings, audits, reporting and general communications activity as required.

What you’ll need

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Proficient skills and experience in using social media for organisational and event promotion, including platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.
• Experience of using social media scheduling tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer, including paid-for posts.
• Experience of using analytics and insight tools to improve reach and engagement across digital platforms.
• Experience of using WordPress or a similar content management system to create, edit and maintain webpages.
• Proficient graphic design skills and experience using Canva or similar design platforms.
• Excellent written communication skills, including copywriting, creative storytelling and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to present information clearly, engagingly and accessibly for different audiences.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with staff, clients, external partners and supporters.
• Strong organisation skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage conflicting demands and deadlines.
• Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a small team.
• Competence in Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Word and Excel.

Now Teach is looking for our first Head of Impact as we embark on an exciting new organisational strategy to understand, articulate and maximise our impact. In this pivotal role, you will lead the ongoing development of Now Teach’s monitoring, evaluation and learning, ensuring we are able to clearly evidence our impact, evaluate and strengthen our approaches, drive continuous improvement and strengthen the case for career changers in teaching. 

We have identified four key areas of impact delivered by our network of Now Teachers and are now in the process of defining overarching organisational impact metrics and building our measurement systems. You will take on this role at a key point in our impact journey, embedding our strategic impact framework and strengthening our internal impact capabilities.  

You will refine and evolve our impact approach to drive continuous improvement across the charity and inform future programme design. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will help embed a strong culture of learning, reflection and evidence‑led decision‑making. 

This role is a key member of the Now Teach leadership team and plays an integral part in evaluating progress against our strategy, sharing insight and learning with trustees, funders and other stakeholders.

Impact strategy & measurement 

• You will represent Now Teach externally on impact and evaluation, strengthening our reputation as a credible, evidence-led organisation and building partnerships that enhance our influence and learning across the sector.

We are recruiting a Director to lead and oversee the strategic, operational, financial, stakeholder and personnel functions of EACS, who would enjoy a hands-on role working with a small part-time staff team, supporting a medium-sized organisation.

Our achievements

We’re a small charity but we pack a mighty punch. • Hosted free training academies for ethnically diverse women and young people aged 16-21 to train for their very first half or full marathons! We offered physical, emotional and logistical support throughout their training journey and cheered on every single one of them as they ran either the Hackney Half or the London Marathon under the Outrunners name. Since programme launch, we have worked with over 250 people in our Academies.

• Took diverse groups of young people to races and events, such as Hackney School run and Black to the Trails. 

• Offered personalised mentoring to several of our young people who were struggling with school or life.

• Expanded the career horizons of young people by offering them a free work experience opportunity with our partner brands.

• Monitor and manage financial performance including production of quarterly management accounts, finance reports and ongoing cash flow forecasts.
• Reconcile major balance sheet accounts and revenue reporting between systems.
• Oversee transactional input of income and expenditure transactions, and all payroll procedures.
• Support the Finance and Audit Sub Committees, preparing relevant papers and attending meetings.
• Work closely with auditors and maintain relationships with professional advisors, insurance brokers and bankers.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting and filing requirements, including the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Provide support and advice to the SMT on financial and relevant matters as they arise.
• Monitor and manage organisational funds on cash deposit platforms.
• Manage partial VAT exemption and VAT reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement financial systems and procedures to ensure best practice and adherence to applicable accounting standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, operational efficiency and financial processes.
• Line manage and support the development of the Finance Officer.

Dignity in Dying campaigns to change the law to allow the option of assisted dying for terminally ill, mentally competent adults in the UK. It is a not-for-profit membership organisation. Compassion in Dying is a registered charity which provides information and support to people to be in control of their end-of-life decisions, alongside gathering evidence to improve culture and policy.

Essential criteria:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in a managerial finance role, ideally within a charity or not for profit organisation.
• Strong understanding of charity accounting and Charity SORP.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and statutory accounts.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting audit processes and working with external auditors.
• Knowledge of VAT reporting and partial VAT exemption.
• Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues and managers.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage responsibility within a small team environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to quickly establish credibility internally and externally.
