About this job:
As Major Gift Development Manager, you’ll:
- Manage a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects and ensure a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey with Dogs Trust to secure five and six figure gifts.
- Attend meetings with existing and new donors, developing bespoke, personalised written communications and proposals that fit with Dogs Trust’s brand.
- Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as other teams across Dogs Trust and VIPs.
- Support the Regional Major Gifts Team Manager in delivering the major donor elements of the fundraising strategy.
About You:
With a proven track record of personally securing major gifts from individuals and a strong understanding of philanthropy fundraising, you will be an excellent communicator capable of engaging with different audiences. Confident and credible, you will have the ability to form strong relationships with existing donors and the tenacity to build networks to find new supporters who can support our work with major gifts. You will have attention to detail and the ability to research and match criteria from donors to Dogs Trust activities and events. Driving license is also required.

Harris Hill are thrilled to be partnering up with an international animal welfare charity who are in an exciting period of growth and are looking for a Major Donor Fundraiser. The role will be working closely with the Head of Fundraising and will be ideally bringing in £200k+ from a mix of Major donors, Trusts and Corporates.
Job title: Major Donor Fundraiser
Location: London 1 day a week
Grade and salary: £50,000 - £54,000
Hours: 40 hours per week.

Context and Responsibilities within this role:
- Creating and implementing a strategic targeted program of Mid Value, Major Donors, HNWI’s, Corporates, Trusts and Foundations fundraising.
- Developing and implementing tailored funding applications, with responsibility for ensuring compliance in any agreements;
- To nurture individual and corporate relationships with a view to securing fundraising opportunities in excess of £5k;
- To create opportunities to meet and develop existing relationships with supporters;
They are now looking for:
- Extensive experience of managing major donor programs and an understanding of fundraising and marketing within animal welfare and international organisations.
- A confident fundraiser with broad experience on fundraising principles, major donor programs and corporate giving;
- Substantial experience in developing corporate relationships;
- Excellent written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills including presenting, negotiating and influencing;
- Proficiency in Excel, and other Microsoft office tools and working knowledge of CRM systems preferably Raisers Edge.

This role sits in our brand-new Philanthropy and Partnership’s Prospect Research and Engagement team. This team will be responsible for ensuring direct fundraisers are equipped to make compelling asks and steward donors. This role will help drive growth and sustainability of high value giving by creating a donor stewardship strategy and delivery framework that provides a range of relevant, impactful and high-quality stewardship communications, events and other meaningful opportunities that build loyalty and connection with Cats Protection. As part of this the role will deliver large-scale special events as well as develop and deliver a programme of bespoke private events that help encourage greater levels of support and long-term relationships.
What we’re looking for in our Senior Stewardship & Events Officer:
