Managing the Accounting & Budgeting and Payroll teams, you will be responsible for the compilation and production of management accounts, budgets and annual finance reports, ensuring the integrity and completeness of the accounting records. You will ensure compliance with taxation rules, regulations and accounting standards and liaise with investment managers over the PCS investment portfolio.
You will bring your experience of working at a professional accountant level in the finance function of an organisation, producing management accounts and participating in the external audit process. You will be able to demonstrate your accounting knowledge and how you keep up to date with developments in financial management and taxation. A knowledge of contract and compliance management is essential.

Free Tibet is a small but effective campaign organisation based in south London. Job Description
Fundraising
- Oversee all income-generation activity across Free Tibet and Tibet Watch. Ensure continuous improvement and innovation and an appropriate balance of fundraising activity across all streams. Current streams include postal appeals, online appeals, and the Free Tibet online shop.
- Manage applications for grant funding on behalf of both Free Tibet and Tibet Watch, working with the Fundraising Officer to build a strong portfolio of five and six-figure grants and steward them for renewal.
- Lead on the recruitment and retention of donors, especially Major Donors, and redevelop supporter journeys and stewardship programs.
- Evaluate new ideas for income generation and strategies for implementation, especially corporate and challenge events / community fundraising.
- Impact reporting of fundraising activity and the performance of quarterly appeals, with a view to improve internal processes for greater income innovation and ROI.
- Liaise with the Free Tibet Campaigns & Research Teams to ensure that campaigning, digital and fundraising activities are seamlessly coordinated.
- Managing relationships with third party agencies, like mailing services and digital mobilisation agencies, making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standard.
- Ensure that our new Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, Raiser’s Edge NXT, is used effectively and to its full potential.

- Work with the Finance and HR manager to monitor expenditure against budget and prepare regular reports on expenditure and projected income for the Free Tibet and Tibet Watch boards.

Background to the post
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer. The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the financial administration of the Asylum Justice office, maintaining accurate financial records and accounts (with support from the Treasurer), claiming GiftAid, and liaising with suppliers. This role will have limited client contact as the focus of the role is to lead on maintaining financial processes.
Key responsibilities and duties
The post holder will have the following areas of responsibility: -
1. Finance (90%)
a.Maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, and set up online payments for authorisation;
b.Draft monthly payroll figures to send to the accountants.
c.Work with the Funding Officer to use QuickBooks in keeping track of payments and grant fund expenditures.
d.Liaise with the Treasurer and Chair of Asylum Justice in order to produce quarterly budget reports.
e.Aid preparation of financial information and budgets for funding bids, grant reporting and audits with support from the Treasurer and Funding Officer.
f.Liaise with auditor and Treasurer for annual accounts.
g.Process GiftAid claims with support from Funding Officer.
h.Perform other financial administrative duties where necessary.
2. Operations Support (10%)
a.Assist in procuring equipment / supplies / services / travel / accommodation as required.
b.Liaise with suppliers such as our IT Consultant / case management system provider to ensure maintenance of the organisation’s infrastructure.
c.Manage of accreditation/subscription renewals and safe and accurate storing of key documents in the operations SharePoint.

About the Role
Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills.
You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. Key Responsibilities
Cashbook Processing
- Manage the cashbook processing of the different offices.
- To check the accuracy of the cashbook returns from the different offices. To ensure the returns tie back to the bank statements and the entries are supported by receipts. To ensure the coding is correct
- To provide training to the offices on the cashbook processes and return and to provide guidance in line with the Finance manual.

Budgeting

About the role
Systemic Justice is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our growing organisation. You will assist with day-to-day book-keeping, accounting and expense monitoring. Part of our small Finance and Operations team, you will be working closely with our Finance Manager as well as the rest of our remote team.

What you’ll be doing
- Handling of all documentation for all financial transactions
- Booking of all payments (payroll, reimbursements, credit cards, vendors and consultants, fixed assets)
- Book and maintain overviews of all revenue (Accounts Receivable, pre-paid agreements, in-kind donations)
- Allocate transactions according to SJ accounting manual and ensure compliance.
- Support compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Fixed assets monitoring, depreciation, and booking updates.
- Monitor project expenses in QuickBooks following allocation compliance guidelines, and generate relevant reports for team and funders
- Support liaising with external auditors and maintain supporting documentation for audits.
What we hope you’ll bring
- Accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably from a non-profit context.
- Project budget management experience, preferably from a non-profit context.
- Experience preparing for financial audits.
- Diligent documentation skills, record-keeping and documentation review experience.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience with the rest of Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with QuickBooks or equivalent accounting software.
- Experience with Asana or other project management software.
- Proactivity, curiosity, and a problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work comfortably within a remote team.
- Incredible attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of specific legislation and statutory requirements for NGOs, including in the Netherlands will be considered an advantage.
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Dutch will be considered an advantage.
- Comfort navigating a young non-profit, including the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and to work well in a growing organisation.

Having day to day responsibility for the PCS payroll function, you will efficiently manage the process of PCS employees’ salaries, whilst ensuring the employer is fully compliant with payroll employment law, adhering to HMRC and National Insurance contribution procedures. The main duties of the role will be to:
- Manage all aspects of the payroll process by ensuring an accurate and timely processing of staff salaries and deductions
- Produce and submit end of year returns/procedures by electronic submission
- Manage all aspects of employee benefits policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
- Ensure HMRC and National Insurance contribution Procedures are adhered to at all times
- Ensure PCS policies are compliant with Payroll Employment law on procedures such as SSP, SMP, and Lawful deduction
- Management of one monthly staff payroll, ensuring payslips are correctly produced.
- Manage projects and produce reports within stipulated timeframes, as assigned by senior Finance management

Key responsibilities and duties
The post holder will have the following areas of responsibility: -
1.Fundraising (55%)
a.Research and identify fundraising opportunities;

d.Promote and coordinate opportunities for individual giving, including online donor platforms, newsletters, regular social media communications, campaigns, and events (with support from trustees);

2.Project Management (15%)
a.Assist the Legal Director with partner meetings to ensure smooth set-up of projects;

c.Update the Client Liaison Officer/s on monitoring and evaluation requirements and make necessary amendments to systems / forms to capture relevant data.
d.Manage project funding through allocations in Quickbooks, with support from Finance Officer where necessary.
3.Monitoring and Evaluation (30%)
a.Regularly update overview of case records and track enquiry numbers, calculating statistics and reporting these to Legal Director, trustees, and external parties where relevant;
b.Prepare and submit monitoring reports to donors with statistics and testimonials gathered by the Client Liaison team;
c.Attend and lead monitoring meetings with donors;
d.Prepare the annual report with support from trustees and Finance Officer;
e.Create internal and external communications to share results, with support from trustees.

Main duties:
As Project Accountant you will support the Head of Finance to run a project to improve financial reporting from our newly implemented finance system - X-ledger.

Consider current technical functionality and whether any additional software is required to meet the financial reporting needs of the organisation.
