To fulfil our five-year strategic development plan, we are seeking key skills in our new CEO which will be increasing our ability to reach out to as many people in need of The Maypole Project expertise in psychological and social support by creating new partnerships, new support networks and reaching into new geographical areas, 

Reporting directly to the Chair of the Board of Trustees and with the support of Head of Developments, the CEO will lead the management of the organisation, drive its strategic development and, together with the Board, secure the future success of the organisation.

The post holder will promote The Maypole Project, its ambitions, values and objectives through every aspect of their work.

Contract: Permanent, subject to a five-month probationary period
Hours: full-time, 28-35 hours per week. Youth Realities hosts a fortnightly 4-day working week policy.
Location: Hybrid working, with in-person requirements from Youth Realities’ office in Colindale (NW9 5XW) and attending events where required in London.
Salary: £46,800 - this is based on current resource and trustees are open to salary increases as funding becomes available.
Start date: August 2024.

Founded in 2016 and formally established in 2017, Youth Realities is a specialist youth and survivor-led charity supporting young people, primarily young women and girls aged 11-25, impacted by teenage relationship abuse.

As the Director you will oversee the smooth operation of Hindleap Warren, in East Sussex, and Woodrow High House, in Buckinghamshire.  You will also lead on the safety and safeguarding aspects of London Youth’s work, supported by a strong and well-qualified team.

Having already undertaken substantial renovations at Woodrow during the pandemic, London Youth is making plans to improve the Hindleap site.  You will be leading that capital investment programme.

London Youth aims to make more trips happen for our member youth organisations and young Londoners who would not otherwise get the chance. You will have a key role to play in maintaining existing support for this work and securing new opportunities.

Working closely with a highly committed and skilled Senior Team, the Director of Outdoor Centres is a key appointment to the team to enable us to realise our ambitions.

Join us as our Director of Finance and IT at War Child UK, a pivotal role within our Leadership Group reporting directly to Helen Pattinson, CEO. Your role is to lead our finance and IT, but as a member of our leadership group to take joint responsibility with other Directors for leading the organisation.

As Finance and IT Director, you'll lead the optimisation of our finance and IT systems to streamline recording and reporting of financial transactions. Your analytical skills will be essential as you explore cost and income centres, supplying vital data necessary to significantly enhance our fundraising efforts.

Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll play a strategic role in long-term financial planning, fostering collaboration across the War Child Alliance. Together with fellow leaders, you'll steward the wider organisation, ensuring War Child UK is ready for success and equipped with ambitious financial investment frameworks.

Success in this role also entails ensuring our IT systems maintain the highest standards of excellence, delivering accurate and timely financial performance insights. You'll contribute to a vision where War Child UK achieves extraordinary results within a financially sound Alliance, empowering members to maximise their impact while being accountable for every penny raised.

You will be a qualified accountant with exceptional strategic and operational experience. You do not necessarily need to have prior international development experience, although you will need to demonstrate that you can build effective working relationships with overseas counterparts. Start Network is seeking an experienced Director to join a highly skilled senior leadership team (SLT). This is a new role following a functional review of the organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Impact and Change will be instrumental in driving the organisation’s vision, mission and strategic objectives and leading the organisation through its evolution and growth.

The Director will lead, oversee and support the Impact and Change teams which include Systems Innovation and Change, Evidence and Learning, Advocacy, and Communications and Digital. The Director of Operations will work as part of the management team to develop and implement the organisation’s strategy and operational plans and to build the longer term sustainability of the organisation. This role would best suit someone with significant experience leading policy research programmes – in a think tank, consultancy, central or local government, academia or similar. You will have a strong understanding of policy in London and the UK, project management skills, and be able to credibly communicate complex ideas to different audiences – in meetings, in writing, through blogs and articles, and in speeches. You will have strong analytical skills, including a track record of qualitative and quantitative research. You will have experience in fundraising, will have managed budgets, and will be confident working with researchers at different stages in their careers. However, we are less interested in what you have done, and more in what you can do.

This is ideally a full-time role; however, flexible working is embedded within our culture. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Engagement & Marketing Director role was created last year to drive forward our next strategic phase of engagement – determining how we influence, engage and mobilise people and communities to plant and protect urban trees. The maternity cover will continue to work closely with the senior team to finalise the engagement strategy and implement from 2025. The maternity cover will lead our Engagement & Marketing team to drive awareness and understanding of the importance of urban trees, deepening our connections with urban communities, growing our communications reach to engage target audiences, and boosting our Individual Giving programmes linked to regular giving, payroll giving and legacies.

The successful candidate will be a proven community engagement professional with senior-level marketing experience, a demonstrable track record of team leadership and experience of developing and delivering against strategic objectives. You will be credible and comfortable operating at senior levels with third sector stakeholders as well as grassroots communities.
