Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

Our mission is to tirelessly support and champion how parents can participate in education and have their voices heard. We want to be a powerful force for good in education in the UK that strives to bring homes and schools together for the good of all children and society. We have ambitious plans to increase our impact and are establishing a central fundraising strategy for the first time. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up. We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects. You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them. Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

You’ll have
- A minimum of two years of experience in trust fundraising
- Demonstrable success in securing four and five-figure gifts
- Experience in managing funder relationships, and developing them into longer-term partnerships
- Strong research skills to help identify suitable prospects whose mission aligns with Parentkind
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication skills - strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written applications, and proposals and deliver impactful presentations

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work across two schools in Greenwich, London. Our schools are shown on a map The Access Project schools on our website.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
• Match students with volunteer tutors
• Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
• Monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate
• Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
• Manage tutor relationships and attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls.
• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
• Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
• University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Job Description
The Head of Advocacy and Policy will be responsible for developing an excellent Advice Service and Retention Team to support and advise students effectively to enable excellent student experience and satisfaction.
This role will lead on the development of effective insights, representation and support initiatives/campaigns for students, across our three campuses at Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway.
This role will enhance work with the diverse student population of the University of Greenwich and lead a dynamic team to ensure students have consistent and accessible services that contribute to positive student experience.
This role sits within the wider Membership Services department, together with other key areas consisting of; Activities, Sport, Academic Communities, Representation and Democracy, we provide a high-quality service for students, that they can shape, steer and be at the heart of.
This postholder will be part of the GSU Senior Leadership Team and will be expected to contribute to department and organisation wide strategic development.
The post holder will:
- Have expert knowledge in areas of in relation to Advice and Retention and policies and legislation relating to such activity
- Support and develop strong student-led communities and campaigns in areas of: Advice, wellbeing and retention so that members can thrive
- Provide line management support to staff so that the team have up to date, specialist advice skills, knowledge and understanding of University regulations, policies and procedures that may affect the work of the Advice service and oversee engagement across Greenwich’s 3 campuses
- Undertake casework and provide expert advice for the team on all aspects of Advice
- Lead on the project management of wellbeing/health promotion campaigns and initiatives throughout the year, as well as any external bids through bodies such as OfS
- Oversee the Retention and Wellbeing Project work, and other relevant projects with external partners

- Develop and oversee a structured approach to gathering, analysing and reporting on data relating to engagement of students with our services and to student views on key issues relating to retention and success
- Develop and oversee processes of collecting quantitative and qualitative data from casework to analyse trends and inform feedback for the SU and university
- Ensure evaluation mechanism are embedded in the teams working practises and that findings are shared and used to implement learnings with the goal of improving services
- Support Officers by preparing information, statistics and trends about key services to be shared within the University committee cycle

Budget and Financial Management

To be successful in this role:

You will have sound knowledge and experience to interpret, analyse and document results from charity Programmes in writing through a variety of publications, including donor reports and guidelines/toolkits in a clear and succinct manner. You will have experience of working with highly sensitive data, and excellent and proven analytical skills working with both quantitative and qualitative data, including advanced skills on excel, and case management systems. Our client, a leading London university, is looking to appoint a temporary Research Information Management System (RIMS) Developer , to support the development of their RIMS, Pure.

The Chartered College of Teaching is a a charity and the professional body for teachers. We are working to empower a knowledgeable and respected teaching profession through membership and accreditation.
We are dedicated to bridging the gap between practice and research and equipping teachers from the moment they enter the classroom with the knowledge and confidence to make the best decisions for their pupils.

Since opening membership in 2017, we have grown rapidly. In total our work reaches nearly 50,000 teachers and more than 3 million young people. In 2020 we published reports ‘Education in Times of Crisis’ around the impact of lockdown which have since been cited in educational reports and academic papers; in 2021 we won the Memcom award for ‘Best magazine for a Professional Association or Membership Organisation’; in 2022 we celebrated the graduation of over 246 teachers from our Chartered Teacher and Chartered Teacher (Leadership) pathways. We are a growing and multi-skilled team of 30 people, supported by a Board with a significant track record of experience in a range of fields. Our business plan focuses on growing membership and Chartered programmes and providing meaningful professional learning opportunities for the teaching profession. This role will support us to deliver an excellent service to our members and those engaged with our CPD pathways, publications and research activity.
Requirements
We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in our continued growth and will make a real impact on the teaching profession; we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and the work we do.
Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Associate Director: Partnerships and the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement will take a lead on activity related to attracting and retaining our individual teacher members, including developing, rolling out and evaluating recruitment and retention programmes, initiatives and campaigns for current and prospective members. The successful candidate will be confident using data to inform decision-making and monitor progress towards membership growth targets and have the ability to work well independently and within a team.

Main area of work
The majority of your time will be spent developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to secure individual membership growth, including through retaining current members and attracting new members.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships externally and working with a range of colleagues across the organisation. You’ll be an expert on our products and services, and you’ll use our CRM system and other data sources to understand membership trends, challenges and opportunities.
You will ensure the Chartered College of Teaching is responsive to the needs of the sector, making sure that we understand our members and ensuring that every member gets maximum value from engagement with our products and services.
Additional areas of work
- Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, planning recruitment campaigns and strategising content and resources for membership initiatives
- With the Associate Director: Partnerships, ensuring join-up between group membership sales and individual member sales
- Promoting and representing the Chartered College to potential members at events
- Working with the Membership Manager to ensure a seamless experience for members from their first interaction with us
- Recording, presenting, formatting and analysing data in a variety of ways to report to colleagues and stakeholders, including against KPIs.
- Performing other activities as and when required to support the wider team to achieve the charity’s goals.
Alongside your main areas of work, you will also participate in meetings and be encouraged to participate in CPD learning activities and training to maintain and develop your knowledge and skills.
You don’t need to have expertise in absolutely all areas, but we’re looking for someone who is motivated by our vision and truly passionate about membership growth and supporting teachers. Systems you would be using include Salesforce, DotDigital, Google Workspace, Zoom, Submittable and Slack.
Experience and skills:
- Experience in a sales or business development role (essential), with experience of membership or subscription sales highly desirable
- Experience working in the education sector (highly desirable)
- Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating sales initiatives and campaigns (essential)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills (essential)
- Experience of Salesforce or other CRM systems (essential)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (desirable)

We are looking for an advice professional who understands best practice in delivering advice in a 1-2-1 or group setting. You must be passionate about supporting students and improving the student experience at UWL!
The Student Advisor is a key role within the UWLSU’s Advice and Wellbeing team. The Student Advisor will deliver case-based advice and advocacy interventions to hundreds of students each year to an excellent standard. The post holder will work to ensure that our students are supported through academic regulatory processes such as mitigating circumstances, academic appeals, complaints and disciplinary processes at UWL. They will provide independent, non-judgmental and accessible advice to students that will empower them to make informed choices about their case. An understanding of external support networks is also advantageous, as our Advisors are expected to identify and provide signposting guidance to students that will help them access suitable support outside of the SU and University. We also pride ourselves on our partnership work with the University of West London and as such the postholder will be expected to demonstrate commitment to working in partnership with key stakeholders in the student experience at UWL.
Our Advice Service is non-traditional, dynamic, proactive and strategically-driven. We are looking for an individual who identifies with our mission to creating a transformational student experience and supports students’ sense of wellbeing whilst at University. You will have experience in working with and supporting individuals and groups with advice, and may have experiencing or advocating for individuals or groups in meetings or hearings.
