These are exciting opportunities to join the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities within the Police and Crime Plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to join MOPAC and play a key role in delivering the Mayor’s new Police and Crime Plan (PCP) for London.

 

As the strategic lead for Partnership work across the organisation, you will be working closely with the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, the Mayor’s office, MOPAC Board members and our SLT, as well as partners across all sectors to influence and secure collective leadership to address key issues for Londoners.

 

You will be the lead officer for the Mayor’s London Crime Reduction Board, briefing the Mayor, supporting the work of the board and its sub groups, shaping their role, purpose and forward agendas to ensure that there is a coherent delivery plan for these groups which enables delivery of the key PCP priorities.

 

Working across teams and directorates you will help to co-ordinate all MOPAC’s strategic partnership activity and deliver a focused approach to stakeholder management.

 

We are looking for someone who has: 

  • An exceptional ability to build relationships, influence and negotiate with stakeholders and partners at all levels.
  • The behaviours to successfully work across organisational boundaries, building rapport and motivating others to succeed in partnership.
  • Knowledge of best practice public sector governance arrangements and a commitment to the requirements of public accountability and transparency.
  • Achievement in promoting diversity, equality and inclusion, both in the workforce, as well as in partnership development.

Political Restriction

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.

 

Security Vetting Clearance

The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.
