Active Adults Lead
We are seeking to recruit an individual with purpose, passion and integrity, to lead, support and connect people, partners and cross-sector organisations across Greater Manchester to support and enable more adults to get and stay active as they age.
Greater Manchester Moving is the Greater Manchester charity committed to changing lives by inspiring a healthier future in Greater Manchester through moving more, sport and physical activity. We play a strategic leadership role in support of the Greater Manchester wide movement, for movement, to enable active lives for all.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing Active Partnership team working with a network committed to making positive change through physical activity, sport and movement.
We are looking for someone with the knowledge, skills and experience to drive forwards the ambition to make active ageing a central pillar within the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub and support the Greater Manchester ambition for an age-friendly city-region.
We are seeking to recruit an individual who can unite people from diverse backgrounds around a vision, supporting the development of networks, activities and opportunities to move more and tackle inequality.
You will be an enabler of change and understand the power of collaboration and learning to connect moving more to healthy ageing agendas, and can work with others to connect, support and lead across sectors, organisations and alongside communities to help us achieve the ambitions set out in the ten-year strategy.
This is a part-time role with working days being between Monday to Friday, with very occasional evening/weekend work being required. Other arrangements such as a secondment would be considered.
We have permanent office space in the House of Sport in Manchester, and regular team and co-working days in venues across Greater Manchester, blended with homeworking.
As an employer committed to flexible working, we will work around other commitments you may have; we trust you to work in a way that suits you and that enables you to be your most productive and happy.
Greater Manchester Moving is committed to providing equal opportunities and promoting diversity, irrespective of ethnicity, age, gender identity, sexuality, disability, religion, pregnancy or personal circumstance. We aspire to being a diverse, inclusive and responsible organisation. Our aim is to have a workforce that reflects and understands the communities we work alongside. We are therefore particularly keen to receive applications from people belonging to under-represented groups.
